EA servers need a complete reset (Remove MF)

Crafting currency should not even be available for trade, then adjust drops. Fixes problems. MF is still stupid regardless.

" This was a thoughtful post and I agree with the sentiment here. However, I would appreciate a solution other than reset, but I fail to see a different option. I watched several videos today with a culling MF 600-820% magic find party and it completely took all the wind out of my sails to play. I simply cannot and will not be able to compete and I have fallen too far behind. Perhaps its best to start a new character and play the campaign a few times over instead of playing in that environment? When my wife and I play for hours for the last few weeks and we get a few exs and 1 div each. I just cannot afford to upgrade my gear. The other problem that is not well addressed here is the loot filters and the total amount of "okay/great" but not "godly" items simply ignored from the magic find groups discussed herein. Couple that with magic find boosting currency drops and you create a situation of dilution of currency value and a loss of those mid level gear as they are completely ignored by those players. That same gear would be perfect for me and enable me to keep playing. This dichotomy seems insurmountable. I fail to see a rational solution other than to not play until something is changed about the situation. Why would they want to waste time to pick up items that can only sell for 1-5 ex instead of just focusing on big potential items; many divines. Mind you that mid gear items I'm discussing (completely ignored) are already mathematically improbable for people like me to even find in the first place. I play on a nade merc and I need high physical damage weapon. It needs a high ilvl base and 2 physical damage affixes in order for it to be an upgrade. If you take a look at https://www.craftofexile.com/ you'll see the odds of that happening are very low probably 330 times. Ive haven't even looted a base with that high of an ilvl to even attempt to craft on it yet. And right now the base is selling for 1 div. I need 330 div to attempt to make it (with 330 aug and 330 annulment) In summery, I agree with the viewpoint to tie gear into difficult content and I suggest a deterministic way to develop a character with gear toward that goal. That solution should not rely as heavily on trading and instead should rely on killing monsters without magic find gear. Maybe solutions to this would include updating crafting to allow players to craft sub god items to flatten that curve a bit to enjoy higher tier content and have that higher tier drop "good enough" items. |

I agree with the removal of magic find / rarity from gear. It might be okay to keep it on waystones but as we all can see Divs are right now 106 exalts each. The rich will get richer with MF gear and everyone else will be priced out of the market. I don't understand how this lesson still has not been learned from PoE1 with item quant. Item rarity is no different.

+1 to a complete wipe and the removal of MF from gear. Tie MF to the tier of maps. Don't even make it an affix you have to fish for... just bake it in. Or hell, just remove MF entirely and make the game drop useful items for a change.

I'm strongly in favor of entirely redoing pretty much every system in this game and doing a server reset.
- Crafting should exist to craft, not to get a crafting item once in a blue moon only to hoard it like a rat to use as currency. - Uniques are worthless nearly across the board, with very rare exceptions, they ALL need to be redone and be allowed to have stats added, otherwise they'd have to be made extremely strong to begin with to rival rares. " Helpful comment to a well thought out post. Thanks. The comparison of the Olympics is not realistic. With the Olympics you are dealing with the physical limits of the human body. That has a natural end point as the body can only go so far. A better comparison would have been something like hunting and gathering resources. One group gets guns and the other group gets arrows.
