GGG desperately trying to reinvent the wheel and ending up with a square.

It really does feel like playing a stripped down version of poe1, I really wanted a poe1 update and then we got poe2. I am at lvl 86 and it feels like a slog fest. I hate the crafting system, I hate how slow I am in maps, Not a huge fan of the gem system, the passive tree is meh, and I really hate the Ascendancy system, not a fan of the 1 portal death lockout. Looking forward to the next poe1 season.

I have still alot fun with each season of poe1 but couldnt login into poe2 after 1.5 weeks. For the moment you drive me away from the game.

I hoped for poe1 version 2, and an improved and further extended version of poe1 rather than this square (i preferred passive tree/masteries, crafting options, gamemodes, defense layers - spell sup etc., skill linking, mana reseevation/auras, availability of core skills and classes, atlas/ passives, movement skills, currencies, movement skills of poe1). It feels like a cooked down version.

If complexity scares, offer an abstraction or recommendiation layer. The current target group still seem largely to complaint about the huge skill tree and difficulty. Just add a skillplan or overlay which can be downoaded or an AI featured recommendiation system of typical choices based on favored skills.

I dont find boss battles far superior to 1... roll roll roll vs dash dash dash. If just poe1 graphic would look like 2.

Graphics, and campaign is ok however (its not done though as 4-6 os repetition). Pause function is interesting ( door bell etc.). Wasd is interesting. If you would port that to poe1 optionally like grouping and downscaling, .. could be also a solution.

more people are hyped for PoE 2's launch than ever were for PoE1's most successful time[/b]. And weeks later, after the usual falloff - they still are.

This is easily explained as well. PoE 1 is an OLD game. It was released in 2013. Even with the league system, its going to be hard to attract a NEW crowd of players in 2024 to a game ostensibly from the stone ages. How many new players are flocking to D3 nowadays? In that regard, PoE 1 actually repeatedly broke the mold and was "wildly successful", being one of the few old games to continuously attract a larger and newer audience even a decade later.

PoE 2 hype has been built on the massive overhaul of PoE 1's image throughout a DECADE, alongside the failures of the Blizzard and other giants to attract their own playerbase. PoE players have been sending shockwaves through the gaming community for years, long before PoE 2 was even announced. Free advertising to exactly the crowd that GGG would attract later (that missed the PoE 1 boat by too much time). All of those people that WOULD have been playing D4 have been waiting on bated breath for PoE 2, even though they wouldn't touch PoE 1 with a 10ft pole.

And then, naturally, because the base numbers are way higher than normal, the rolloff will ALSO take longer. Plus, the game itself just simply takes longer. PoE 1 people blasted through the campaign and most of maps in a day. PoE 2....even for a diehard streamer that took them multiple days. Multiple x longer.

The rolloff WILL happen, the question is will GGG be able to make a change so drastic and/or interesting that it brings all those people back. Or will they be gone for good.

I guess 350k players in the last 24 hours on steam only don't agree with you. How can you call something "objective" when it is YOUR opinion? I feel like the game is a huge upgrade compared to POE1, just needs tuning and endgame expansion.

Upgrade of what? I am confused

Upgrade of tedious systems like flask piano, links, socket colors, never enough currency for crafting, crafting being useless while doing campaign, stack as much attack and movement speed as you can and meh. Hey, what did you say about attack and movement speed stacking?

Don't be fooled. POE 2 endgame combat is the same as POE 1 with same or even worse visual clarity.

Are you trying to argue utility flasks and flask piano is superior?
One cannot help but wonder how such a lust for loot can affect a persons mind. Although these exiles appear to be our salvation, it would not take much for them to turn on us as easily as they fight gods and demons.
^don't worry dude, that guy doesn't ever mean what he says! You're supposed to not trust any words that he writes. He said so himself.

I like the system in PoE1. You can automate it in endgame, Mageblood, you know.
