Low Skill POE1 veterans are trying to ruin POE2. GGG please commit to your vision.

I'm sorry but POE2's vision does not match with the league bosses it has in it.

At 300 ex a pop to go in, and insane rng not allowing keys to drop (citadels, invitations, logbooks) for hundreds of maps, who do you think is going to NOT do a oneshot fullscreen meta build?

Can you aford to go in with your off-meta there so you do one mistake and poof, 300 ex?

I think not.

You want balance? Then balance the drop rates and spawn rates for endgame bosses so we can actually play them.

"Ah. Yes. He 'stole'. From the company that put the game up for free for people to play"

Are you dense? Do you think these guys made the game free to play because they want people to leech? It´s their job, they pay their rents, their food and all those things you need to survive with the money that make with the game you know? they expect people to spend money if they actually play the game, isnt like they are the Messiah and are handing food to people, youre ridiculous...

Am I dense? Hmm.. No, I don't think so. Why do you say this?

Well. They made the game free to play, because they have a monetary model that allows that. It was an intentional decision. Lots of games do that, they are free to play, and are supported by microtransactions. And they have millions of players.

Is there something wrong with a game being supported by those who can support it, and still letting others enjoy it as well?

Did you also know, games supported by microtransactions, usually make more than games that aren't?

this is why i hope the devs don't take you guys seriously. to call poe2 ruthless 2.0 is the most dishonest nonsense imaginable. it's a meme at this point.

i played ruthless. it's a garbage mode that stripped away what made poe fun in the first place. poe2 allows you to use support gems. and obviously has 20-40 times the loot drops or more than whatever ruthless had on offer.

this just turns into such a dishonest discussion. just admit you guys love an easy game that has massive screen filling loot drops after big encounters and call it a day. at least be honest. so much loot that you need a loot filter to remove 90% of it.

BUt you hit the nail on the head, you said Ruthless stripped away everything that made PoE fun, and what are everyones complaints? PoE2 lacks fun.

Obviously there are some differences, support gems being one of them, BUT they also made it more difficult to do support gems, you can only use 1 of a support gem, you have to unlock links with currency. The gem system is entirely different.

But the spirit of Ruthless is there, No movement mechanics, just dodge.
Harder to get gear
No crafting.
More "difficult and original poe" feel.
Bosses heal on death.
Currency more rare.

It's far more disingenuous for you to say "its not just ruthless" when so many of the queues of PoE2 were taken and tested in Ruthless. There are a number of much better PoE players than us saying the same thing.

So you can say "Its not ruthless" all you want, but I actually brought points not just pointless words saying "Nuh uh" And judging by your account you wont be around long anyway, you love the game as it is cause you dont plan on playing it past the story then you'll be gone.

Tell me something that requires more skill in PoE 2 than in PoE 1, just one thing, ill wait.

The only thing remotely requiring skill in PoE 2 are Bosses and they actually do not require any skill at all, they just made you have no better gear than blues in the first days so they took 10x more time to kill than PoE 1 bosses, and guess what, if you didnt instagib PoE 1 bosses they would cause severe damage too, besides some pinnacle bosses im deleting endgame map bosses as fast as i was doing in PoE 1, they dont even attack me, wow so much skill, you guys are ridiculous, youre not special, stop thinking you are, PoE 1 had 100x more depth than this crap, we should be mad that they are making stuff easier for you, not the opposite, They turned a game that required intelligence to be good at into a game that you eat 10 boxes of crayons and still make a mapping build, it´s shallow, hell Last Epoch skill trees have more depth than PoE 2.

We wouldn't be having these threads if PoE2 was in the right place now, would we? I'm sure everyone is aware endgame resembles PoE1 and early game resembles PoE2's supposed vision of more methodical combat. None of these are done quite right to the end.

Also, if you're expecting PoE2 to have the same level of depth as PoE1 after many years with only half if not less the game even available on an EA launch, I don't know what to tell you.

Yeah and for a free game I've probably spent more on Poe than I did on D3 or D4, buying tabs, supporter packs for whatever, partially cause it is free and I want to support them.

OF course knowing my dollars went to PoE2 to a new audience and basically giving the middle finger to those who like PoE1 kinda stings.

PoE 1 had more depth on the passive tree alone in closed beta 12 years ago than the entire PoE 2 has today, let that sink in.

GGG's vision thus far has given me the greatest aRPG experience I have ever had. From a player who normally doesn't care for these mindless types of games. When GGG said they wanted to create an evolution of the aRPG they weren't kidding.

The irony of this is that ARPGs were not always mindless.

Players started to expect certain things from them after Diablo 2. Diablo 1 is not an easy game. Revenaunt used WASD and came out before Diablo 2. There were a few who tried their hand at the genre after Diablo 1 created it. All a little different before Diablo 2 cemented the concept.

To this day I tell people Diablo 1 did certain things better than D2 but those things flaws or otherwise continues throughout the genre regardless.

I feel they're less evolving the genre and more paying attention to ideas other than D2.
I'd say look up gameplay of Revenaunt but everyone I've seen playing it sucks bad.

I have NEVER seen one of these "you are just bad at the game, and understand what is fun" people advocate for two game modes, difficulty settings, an such things.

Do you know why? They played the campaign, and then they will never touch the game again -and nothing gives them more pleasure than other people being unhappy about the game.

The last thing they want is for anyone else to have fun.

POE2 fatigued me.
Wasn't excited to play day two even.
Tried all classes. Endgame with both melee and ranged.

It's not hard. It's just NOT FUN.

Crafting is bad. Mapping is bad. Loot is bad. Passive tree a downgrade. Gems a downgrade. Pacing is bad.

I didn't want another copy of POE1. I wanted an UPGRADED POE1.
Not a downgraded one, like it is now.
And by that I don't mean zoom zoom zoom loot pinata. Just fun mechanics in a balanced pacing, with meaningful engaging gameplay in the spirit of the first one.
Bosses was by far the best part of POE2, and guess what GGG chose to do? They LIMITED them in the endgame. Maps are gigantic, and most of them don't even have a boss. And then they bottleneck bossfights behind one death mechanic.

I will stop spending money on the franchise, and so will many others.

See how much money you can get from the one time elite gamers will spend on your vision. I don't think you'll be happy when you realize you are proposing to a group of gamers that jump on the next hot thing every two months, trolling forums in the downtime.

But go ahead GGG, ignore the 10 year veterans that funded POE2 and your entire studio at your own risk.
