the crap you feed us about melee being "better in poe2"
" It sounds to me like the Warrior needs a nerf. And I play a warrior. |

" ^ 100% this |

I swear to christ if the excuse for not fixing melee is that nobody plays melee again I will scream.
Seriously, please. Look up survivorship bias. Please. |

melee in poe2 for me has been the best arpg experience i have ever had. thank god the game isn't too easy either. the devs said they intended people to die at the bosses and i for one appreciate learning the mechanics and having real boss fights

i agree. nerf anything that takes out bosses too quickly. nerf my bell. my monk feels too powerful.

Warriors Hammer needs a hard nerf to its damage and I welcome it

" Well damage reflect is a hard counter, but it affects melee just the same, so if you mean hard counter to ranged specifically and melee is not impacted then yah I'm not sure if there was one, usually the dangerous stuff would be things with haste and some combination of other mods that make it hard to kill quickly if such a rare mob as that can close the distance then it can get some hits in to the ranged character. |

As one of the very few individual who managed to beat POE 2 with a self found warrior I'll sum up my grievance on melee:
- THE EARLY GAME. Yout starting abilities up to the midle of act 2 is a nightmare, rolling slam and earthquack are way too slow and painfull to use, it's like waiting 5 extra second to achieve the same as any ranged class, without any benefit. Worse, you have to be in melee range, and everything shits puddles of poison when it dies. Unlocking leap slap makes things tolerable, but it's only at the begining of act 3 when you get gem support 2 that it becomes trully viable. - The sheer amount of shits that leave AOE when it dies. It's insane, the last dungeon of act 1 and the blood puddles everywhere, all those poisons puddles in EVERY ACTS, the sneaky grenades casually thrown at your feet you can barely notice at the begining of act 2 in the mine BUT you need to stay in melee range to deal damage so you ether don't notice them and die or evade and lose DPS. - The core design of many bosses fucking up melee players, as you can't get in range to dps them, ether because they are too fast and your amination too slow, or because they are hiding in AOE. - The lack of clear visual indication on some attack, such as the frost AOE attack on Geonnor. I can't exactly tell where the ice shard will pop up and it's one of the few attacks during which he stays still, so dpsing him is a gamble (and no,If you're reading this I'm not talking about the other ice shard nova wave that got telegraphed attacks) - the balance between tank/dps. Sure you are more tanky as a warrior but most attacks still one shot you anyway, and your tankiness came at the cost of your dps, while any ranged could just roll, which you still need to do as warrior. So you need to spec in def just to be able to hit a boss, taking risks to deal less damage than ranged would. - Due to the fact that most boss are zooming around, your only reliable skill against them is your basic strike, which is honestly incredibly sad. And your strikeanimation is so painfully slow that you won't hit them 50% of the time - The very poor targeting on small targets. TL;DR: Melee as a warior just feels inferior to everything ranged |

+1
i stopped arguing since this stuff gonna give me an aneurysm some day only monk feels like proper melee, and i feel like it was done by a Tencent dev, or perhaps a new employee GGG is filled with generic devs and they are sabotaging the game Trials mechanic is another example of sabotage it is New Zealand, Valve has probably siphoned all the good devs on that tiny island they can't do remote work because of they s$#@t law it just sucks, i wish i could give them a hand, part of my wants to apply to a job position, but i'd rather work on my own game instead your best bet in PoE 2 moving forward is to play Spark, fill screen with projectile that bounce off of walls and don't bother with their mechanics or only play monk, and hope that the dude who built monk has the mental capacity to keep push for a better melee archetype in poe 2 |
