the crap you feed us about melee being "better in poe2"
After playing 3 characters
83 titan 75 invoker 55 deadeye Putting them in order for the FUN and easiness to play would be like. Deadeye >>> Invoker >>>>>>>>> Titan I can one shot packs of enemies with leap slam, most map bosses die to a hammer, but still feels too slow to play compared to other classes. It is wild how the warrior can one shot packs and most bosses but still feel slow. Slams are the worst. Monk skills feels significantly better, but ranged skills feels even better. You can literally just slap on leap slam with faster attacks and increased aoe and fist of war and get huge AoEs and you can always hit everything on the screen. You also don't have to take every attack speed penalty node on the entire passive tree you know. You can also hit bosses with warcries if you need to keep the shields from going down.
Try playing a warrior with actual attack speed instead of -20%. Last edited by Kashou#2868 on Dec 20, 2024, 7:43:59 AM

" Attack speed, for most warrior skills doesn't matter at all. Here is a comparison https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KubL5taekaw |

" Wrong, it matters a lot. It's pretty much exclusively Rolling Slam that has a base cast speed, and even then it is very noticeable. Attack speed on leap slam is like night and day. Even in your video having more ASPD is clearly a big difference and you generally have more than just rolling slam anyway. |

" I played 83 titan, tested, experienced it myself and if the skill has "added attack time" any attack speed modifier is barely noticeable. Like a weapon with 1.05 aps and 1.30 aps, you would hardly notice in skills with "added attack time". Guess what, they decided to add that to any meaningful attack skills. Yes, I have also played it, and it is fine. Literally only 3 skills have added attack time, and they are all big slams and combo payoff abilities not even meant for spamming. Rolling Slam, Leap Slam, and Sunder.
Just play them with fist of war and expanse and enjoy the huge AoEs instead of worrying about spam casting them. It's not a problem, and even then attack speed is still highly noticeable on these skills in terms of feel, especially going attack speed nodes and AVOIDING attack speed PENALTY nodes. *** HATE MESSAGE ***
I see GGG continues to HATE MELEE builds. They just don't want them in the game. It's impossible to kill about 50% of the rare monsters in endgame, not to mention bosses, because every single one of them has ice explosions, chaos explosions, lightning explosions, chaos spores, chaos bubbles following you, bleed explosions, chaos pods, poison clouds, lightning remnants, magma barrier, slow bubble, burning ground, mana drain bubble, and the list can go on and on and on and on. Not to mention that the stupid Archnemessis tradition has been ported over from PoE1. Fighting rare monsters with 12 mods as MELEE (from which 8 are AOE effects around him) is just STUPID. I have a 60 div MELEE Monk build, and every time I die to something as STUPID as mentioned above, I feel like deleting the game. Oh, and I haven't even mentioned the trials. Brilliant move there! Round of applause for both Sanctum and Trialmaster, or whatever the heck his name is. I'm stuck on the 4th trial of ascendancy, and I don't think I'll complete it any time soon, unless I nolife a week of my life, fail 58 times and succeed on the 59th. Once again, I have to congratulate whoever had this wonderful idea for the Ascendancy trials. It's really skill based when you are getting RANDOM NEGATIVE EFFECTS thrown at you. *** HATE MESSAGE OVER *** |

" If you have a 60 div Monk build, which is wildly expensive, and you're dying to rares then I think the problem is you -- not the class/skill/archetype. If you're really struggle-bussing that hard man you can just buy your Ascendancy carry. I assume you already RMT'd your currency based on your post and inability to survive with 60 divs worth of gear. Last edited by slobdog#2920 on Dec 20, 2024, 8:35:00 AM

Honestly, at 80/T10 i'm over slogging with my warrior
Sure, there is a difference in feeling between a 1.25 and a 1.05 weapon, but particular since the 'fix' in the last patch warrior is a slog to play, damage isn't the problem, double boosted HotG with bleed in particular is absurd, and the recent changes helped with survivability, but warrior needs a lot of work imo. Maybe once axes and swords come i'll return to it. I switched to ranger a few days ago since it probably wont get its balance pass until the new year, and honestly it feels like I'm playing a completely different, much more fluid game, I'm not constantly missing big hits because hitboxes and hit detection is a mess on my 2s animation skills, i can attack while moving, it feels great. I'm honestly pretty disappointed with the state of the warrior right now, as I was really looking forward to playing 'true melee' again, I've given it a good amount of play and wont be returning to it until more weapons are released, or issues like charge and leap being blocked/diverted by basic mobs on the ground are changed |

Maces are meant to be slow, and they aren't even that slow. If it's not for you then don't play it but don't bitch about "melee" like this isn't a specific flavor of it. Just play a monk if you want fast melee because it is certainly more than twice as fast.
