Out of curiosity, did you already know about the difference I described between the PoE1 and PoE2 character models, or was that new to you? Do you think that's something everyone already knows, and that's why you say my posts are unproductive? Or are you still talking to me in an insulting way? Because it seems to me as though you have a hard time typing a comment unless you're putting someone else down.
Melee is for real men, if you want to play easy mode go ranged or caster instead of crying on forums.

A variety of content is desirable for a reason. Your build sucks at fighting Balbala and you don't want to make any changes whatsoever to handle that. Okay, don't fight Balbala.

You are the one who based your whole build around a single ability with a godawful slow attack time. I understand the Mace skill pool does not have much of anything for quick jabs, and that's an issue. But you have nine skill slots and also a basic attack to work with, without even talking about weapon swaps.

Get some totems. Get a crossbow and throw Maim Support on some Flashbangs. Get some poison into your build.

Spellcasters have to find ways to deal with their weaknesses. Shooters have to find ways to deal with their weaknesses. Why should melee builds get a free pass to have the entire game catered to them specifically, and them alone, so their weaknesses simply never happen?


What a stretch. Appart from the title. The only caster archetype in the game is warrior, plain and simple. Most of warrior will have to cut side bosses and do them overleveled/geared during campain.
It sucks and it doesn't require much honesty to aknowledge it. Denying obvious fact won't make you any better at the game. We all know you suck.
Real men play earthquake with increased skill effect duration. I did try it for the lulz on my chrono and it took ~15seconds until the aftershock hit

Your posts are unproductive without any assistance from anyone else. You think they are productive, because you think that stripping emotion from the discussion makes it more productive, but it doesn't, so they aren't.

You weren't replying to me, and I did know the history of models and melee, but it makes no difference to the context of the discussion. GGG still chose to create PoE2 rather than fix the problem in PoE1, so the problem still exists in PoE1, as well as melee now sucking at least as much in PoE2.

Had GGG gone ahead with their original plan, developing PoE2 as a side-along to PoE1 and actually bleeding the technologies across, there is some chance that PoE1 would be in a state to employ the new animation mechanics to currently existing or new skills in that game, instead of where we are today. You know, like they said they were doing. Before they said they were aware that melee would need a lot of help to be good in PoE2. Multiple times. Prior to early access. In which melee now sucks donkey turds.

As for insulting you, I'm imagining you think I give a shit, but I don't. I assume you don't even realise that you're insulting people in the first place; or perhaps you do, but think you're so clever that people don't even realise they are being patronized. Needless to say, my response to your apparent need for conversation sterilized from emotion is diddums.

Realizing something is technically infeasible isn't the same as a choice. Sometimes it's a recognition of reality. I'm not emotional because there's nothing here to get emotional about. Nobody betrayed anyone. If fixing the old game costs millions more than you budgeted for, it's better to make a new game, with as little of the old technical debt as possible.

Mace skills have:
Gap closers - 3 skills
Perfect strike always ignite, so ES not a problem
Molten strike - ranged attack, have a chance to ignite
Ancestral totem, with molten strike it to auto turret. Another way to deal with ES.
Boneshatter - Crazy AOE + stun. With aftershock, devastating and armor explosion support boss fight ends as soon as boss summons adds.
Hammer fall - AOE + huge damage

Sunder is slow and I think it supposed to be used on stunned enemy.
Melee is pretty fun if you use all the tools.

Dude i'm doing my first xbow merc run and it's not even funny how easy it is in comparison and how many options i actually have. All i have to worry about is how to make myself more powerful instead of how to stop sucking and being constantly countered.

Melee is objectively in a rough spot and if we don't complain nothing will change.

it's better but they also toned ranged to be even better so the gap is even more disgusting than in pou 1
