Yeah. Well, ti's ait of translator issue, for what itworth staves and spears (polearms in general) aren't considered melee in my language. Yes, in game mechaics they are. They have slightly longer range and mobility is on par with crossbow mercenary, it's close a quarter weapon, but you're as mobile as archer.

I don't get why mace user should be slow. In reality staff\spear users are _slower_ than sword or mace users, simply because staff is heavier than these. They are faster than unbalanced polearm. But GGG had other ideas.

Monk skills are completely melee. The only people saying they arent are the few people on the forums.

I dont think many people here actually play mace skills with their takes on what is "melee" and what is not. Its like they loaded up the first 2 minutes of warrior, had mace strike on their bar and go "YEA THIS IS ALL THERE IS THE MACE SKILLS"

•Shield charge shocks have huge radius and you move the entire screen
•VF is ranged.
•Rolling slam you prep at range.
•Sunder, the build everyone is playing(not me) you play at range
•Totems, you cast them at range
•ES you cast them at range



Really dont think the people who try to decide what is melee and what isnt even played warrior at all

So the promise about melee being good was just an outright lie if they think melee is okay from the interview.


Quarterstaff is mid in comparison to any other kind of melee in any other kind of game, even PoE1.

Like compare evade spiritborn from d4, literally any melee in LE, or even flickerstrike/cyclone CoC in PoE. Or fuck, just glacial hammer in PoE1. Hell, I'd say DEFAULT ATTACK sword in Wolcen is better.


To durrhurr taco bell chalupa monk in PoE2.

Warrior is horrible - it's trying to be monhun GS without the DPS or the hyper armor, Monk is bad - it's trying to be a dex build in a soulslike with a fatroll.
