What's even the point of discussing this? SSF exists. This complaint is literally what it's there for. The argument has been made, the compromise now exists in SSF, carried over from PoE.

The mode OP wants to play exists. OP's insistence that the rest of us ALSO play SSF whether we want to or not is puzzling.

If you can't play the way you want to without changing the way that everyone else does when a mode already exists to accommodate you, I don't know what else to tell you beyond, "Play the mode that exists to accommodate you."

I want a game tuned to be very fun with little trading akin to the golden era of Diablo 2.

We HAPPILY played that game and its expansion FOR YEARS, and never once did we feel we needed trade to be able to enjoy the game.

Quite the opposite, once trade became more popular a lot of the magic was lost.

The worst thing you can do for someone enjoying a game is give them an overpowered item.

Agreed. What you seem to be failing to understand is that the threshold of where that balance lies is different for different people and the threshold you're expressing a desire for already has a specific game mode set up to accommodate you. Instead you're here demanding that the rest of us change where our balancing point is, which is a baffling waste of time and energy.

Why are you using the term "we" when you really mean "I"? I personally really enjoyed trading in Diablo 2 and using it gave me a whole new type of "magic" to enjoy.
