Floored by the power spike of TRADING. This will ruin the game.

Dang didn't know they forced you to buy items in trade that must have been really rough on you, probably caused some trauma response to kick in when you see trading happening. I hope that you are able to find the help you need someday buddy.

The problem that GGG is trying to address with POE 2 is a vocal player base accustomed to easy mode mechanics that wants an easy mode button.

No one is arguing against my point that trade isn't a horrible power spike that destroys the game loop.

You all just want your easy mode button that ruins the experience.

You are missing the point. If you don't want trading, play in SSF. After that if you still "care" about what other people are playing, that is a you problem, not a game problem. Nobody is arguing against your assertion because it is irrelevant. But you should also understand that nobody is agreeing with your claim that it ruins the game, because it objectively isn't a problem because SSF exists for people who don't want trade. Frankly, even if not playing in SSF, all you have to do is not trade.

You are effectively arguing that everyone should have their game experience subjugated for yours, because right now you can have the game experience you want in at least two ways and are arguing that others should have their options removed.
This game was built from the ground up with trade intended, I'm still nostalgic about how chris described a bazaar like atmosphere, That organic nature of the game is in large part what drew me in, I had already played the economic simulator of hardcore mmorpg before that and wanted something a bit more casual.

This honestly is still more casual than those days and the only concerns i want focused on in regards to trade by GGG is the longevity of the economy and if people are buying OP gear then that's great!... As long as they can make the currency to buy it at a reasonable exchange rate throughout their play time be it early or late in the game.
Innocence forgives you

This, yes.

The lack of self-awareness required to persist on this argument is insane. This should not be a discussion.

This thread is akin to standing outside of an ice cream parlor that sells chocolate ice cream and screaming in the face of every other customer that enters insisting that chocolate is the only acceptable ice cream.

If someone were doing that IRL, it wouldn't be a surprise when the police show up to remove them.

There is more to this world than being a passive aggressive ass.

All I did was present an argument for what I believe would make this game better and more enjoyable for more people.

My goal here is to make this game better.

If you want, you are free to present rational and reasoned counter arguments.

If you want to be an insufferable $&*#, feel free. But you could do literally anything else with your time, like read a book, write an insightful post with tangible counter arguments.

But hey, what are we to expect? This is a game with a very passionate user base they like the first game and they want that same broken experience that they love.

I don't say this to be smarmy, GGG put a lot of blood sweat and tears into POE 1 and it shows, and a lot of people really love that game.

They want to try something new, they want to create a more tuned experience with a sane damage system with mechanics that don't get outside of an insane range. Trade in its current incarnation is counter to that goal.

It makes the experience less fun, for the vast majority of players.

Since when are you speaking for other players?
Trading is fun!

you Do realize this is strictly because it is EA? On league start prices wont be like this, but because it is EA and its for most likely a YEAR. Dirt cheap prices are expected. People arnt knifing their neighbor. Balances will happen to drop rates. Gear is sparce right now, and everyone is supporting eachother. GGG know when trades happen, so they know what is influenced by trades etc. This wont kill the game.

EA is to discover bugs and correct balance. if your worried about your own playthrough, then dont trade or go SSF. thats why it exists. This is allowing players to get through the campaign and play the endgame, the real environment that needs a lot of balancing, they said it themselves, untested endgame. SSF will really tell them how gear drops are etc and how their power spiking goes.

I play the game to have fun, yes, HOWEVER, I am mainly playing to do my part and test the game. That is what this whole EA is about. Experience, discovery. I won't judge the game, or evaluate anything until closer to launch and a real league begins. THAT is magic and wonder time.

The biggest problem I see is that a lot of players coming from other genres (MMO games) are conditioned to save their currency to trade with, and so they will nerf themselves early on by not crafting when they should be.

I really think we need a way to craft items in the early game without consuming valuable currency. It feels bad to throw an exalt on an average item when you can instead buy an incredibly overpowered item for the same price instead.

And I don't think most players want to cheese the campaign like that, but they will not understand how easy this currency is to acquire later so they won't want to take any chances.

It's like how every player I introduce to PoE picks up every blue/yellow item through the entire campaign and it's really hard to watch but it's because they don't know what to expect. It then feels really bad for them when they reach end-game and make all the money they were saving through the game in 15 seconds.
FWIW, i've been playing several hours a day since launch, i'm only in T2 maps and i'm flat broke from trying to "craft" gear while keeping resistances capped.

my shield is STILL a shield i found in A2 normal because i haven't been lucky enough to get another one that has the stats that i need, with higher numbers

With the amount of exalts i've spent RNG'ing completely shit mods onto an otherwise good item, i could have bought something acceptable off trade and be able to survive higher tier maps. the lack of ANY deterministic crafting is a giant step backwards IMO.

I hope you're right, I only fear that trade will invalidate the experience moving forward if it's anywhere near the system it is now in the future.
