Boots - Movement Speed Should Be Implicit Affix

"
To improve itemization, every pair of boots should have movement speed as an implicit affix (as opposed to prefix). There is alot of boots you can't use because they don't have movement speed on them. This change would make traversing the game better.

+1 this would make a ton of sense and allow people more leeway in their gear.

You can't craft speed onto boots at a crafting bench anymore too so this would alleviate that pain very well!

Movement speed is also way more mandatory in PoE2 since their is less movement skill spamming and you need speed to scale your dodge distance!

No, there shouldn't be. It's not difficult to get a pair via all the options now, whether vendor, crafting, gambling, trade or otherwise.

What this boils down to is "I haven't got them yet, and I don't like starting slow, so change it to cater me, me me me meeeeeee!".

Take note of the profile making then agreeing with 99% of these posts btw. You will notice a trend in all of them.

Anyways, you guys enjoy your internal effort to bring down this game, I'm going to go map for the next 5 hours because I am absolutely hooked.

I took note of the profiles agreeing with this post. They are very wide and varied?

I don't see how more consistent scaling that enables people having more gear diversity for what they roll on their items will bring down a game about having a ton of different items and custom-ability.

It also doesn't necessarily mean people will always start faster either. Mod tiers roll based on item level and that also applies to higher tier base types dropping.
i would prefer +movespeed affixes be halved, while base characters movespeed buffed a bit. To make +ms affix less mandatory or at least not having maxtier of it less punishing

+1 to this.

That is a great middle ground idea.

No, why it would only work like this ??

The benefit being players wasting less of their time and less of their resources trying to get a movement speed increase that to the best of my knowledge is functionally mandatory at higher levels of play.

No, why

this would only work by introducing a new base type, this base type would have 0 defences, making lots of mods useless (% def incr). very bad solution imo. i think removing the ms mod from rolling much better and cleaner solution. after which this bonus should be given through other means, if necessary

I ran into a rare mob last night with mana siphon and fast movement speed. It somehow completely ignored all my minions the entire fight and just chased after my witch. Because my boots had 20% movement speed, I was able to run just as fast as mob, sometimes keep just a little distance to get just a little mana to cast 1 fire wall to trigger my raging spirits. This fight took me 3 minutes because I was constantly running around and couldn't cast anything 90% of the time. If I didn't have those 20%MS boots on, I wouldn't have been able to outrun that rare, that fight would have been almost unwinnable. Movement speed shouldn't be the deciding factor in fights.

I probably don't even have 1k hours in PoE1 yet, and even I know this is why in PoE1 you keep Lifetap Support somewhere in your inventory (if you dropped it — sad Ruthless noises).
And in PoE2 we can even add (other) Supports to our basic, non-mana-costing attacks !
(and/or maybe even dedicate a weapon passive tree to this if its bad enough ??)

So it's far from being «almost unwinnable», or am I missing something ?
(Oh, I guess it's more about mobs respawn on death / less ways to taunt mobs while you run away / loot on ground disappears on death / only one life in maps issues in PoE 2 ?)

+1 and I think MS values should be slightly higher. Nothing crazy, but a 40% instead of 30% would be a huge improvement
Since there's basically no other movement speed in this game like in PoE 1 there's half a dozen ways to get ti along side normal movement speed, we need it as an implicit. Make it still roll as a smaller amount to really minmax speed but boots are 100% useless if they dont have movement speed on them onw and thats so dumb. Its just like belts without +1 charm, why dont we just have our 3 charms or get them from leveling 80-90 or something?!
+1 to this, or even rework movement speed entirely tbh
Why is it, that the most fundamental affix on a boot, movement speed, is among the lowest weight in the roll table ? I can buy 10 pair of boots in the gamble shop, and maybe get 1 with movement speed. Ridiculous.

So yes. +1 on this. Make higher tier movement speed less common, but make all boots have movement speed. Then having a +30 will still be a achievement and brag item, but movement speed is a must have in your overtuned boss AoE encounters.
