Boots - Movement Speed Should Be Implicit Affix

"
+1000 The devs probly wanna keep it a random roll though so whoever gets Temporalis has to try and and find the "perfect" boots (without) run speed lol.

I hope they change in next patch!
+1

That + more base move speed
Partially agree. Not based on rarity (also unique is not an upgrade to rare. Uniques are sidegrades with special affixes) but based on tier.

Basic: 0-10%

Advanced: 15-20%

Expert: 25-30%

It can be flat or rollable. Unless they want to add zoomy skills, move speed is basically a required stat on boots.

With how trash the vast majority of uniques are, even if they set all unique boots to 30% speed, they would still be a leveling item like wonders already are till devs actually follow up on their promise from previews and make uniques actually items you can build around (or at least provide 3 supports worth of power) like Ghostwrithe/Gaze (build arounds and currently bugfix to mob scaling and armor), Black Sun (power extender on par with a ascend), Alpha's, W&A, Kitoko's etc are.

And the much simpler way is Ilevel (since current movement speed enchant is already tiered by ilevel).

Absolutely. Move speed is so important, you could have god rolls of everything else on boots, but with no move speed, they're vendor trash. Doesn't matter what class or build you are, it's 100% mandatory to have. Even in a loot based game, that's not fun or interesting, just tedious.

Yup, this is exactly why they should be an implicit. Beyond the clearing speed benefit, we've seen multiple boss mechanics rely on you having increased movement speed (including Arbiter). That means it's required, and if it's required, if it doesn't roll it it's worthless by default. No point in even looking at the other affixes if Boots don't have movement speed.

MS is a must in PoE1 Ruthless already.

However, the situation is very different there outside of items : between passives and the bandits quest reward, my latest bow-wielder there has so much + movement speed (nearing +100% ms), that I can even afford to use boots without any movement speed on them !

Last but not least, PoE2 also still has the issue of armours having hidden negative movement speed implicits :
[0.1.0] Armour equipment missing movement speed modifiers in their description

How exactly is it hidden if you can see the effect of it on your character screen?

This is not WoW where a feat tree was too complicated for the players.

You are supposed to have to choose whats best for your character on your gear, giving up one stat for another in this case movement speed vs something else.

And the argument that movement speed is required for everybody is completely false.
There are builds that don't need movement speed on boots for example people using Blink or Queen of the Forest etc, and I suspect we will see more in the future.

or even better, just remove +movement speed from boots and +50% base movement speed by default

Well said. Hope the devs are listening.
