100 000 players gone guys, keep it going :)
100k only in steam. Remember they had more than 1 Milion Early Access Key.
Steam was ~50% of it. So most likely 200-250k gone Also negative review is increasing. PoE1 has ~10% negative reviews While PoE2 in 1 week has ~17-18% negative reviews, imagine when the honey moon ends Last edited by Alluryen#2310 on Dec 13, 2024, 10:07:05 AM

" It is the reality of all games this day and age. Game is in EA and will have both small and large updates and this will create and eb and flow of player loss and resurgence similar to leagues in PoE1. The vast majority of game players don't do everything in games. They don't do all builds, all content, grind etc. Hell most don't even do much at endgame, thus the 240 hours of content is largely meaningless to all but the most dedicated of players. This also goes the otherway. Anyone claiming the huge player numbers at the start as a sign that people want it are just as dumb as the people who say the early drop off of a non finished early access, live service game is a sign that people don't like it. |

" So after 1.0 when the campaign is finished and will no longer be updated it's fine if the game dies? Right, let's say the guestimated 1 million players all return to "see the campaign" and quit. GGG doesn't add to the campaign every league so, unless I missed that talking point, they have 0 reason to return to later leagues. So what the fuck are you even talking about, then? GGG needs to care what their actual playerbase thinks of the endgame. |

The nerf happend on the night to the 12th. On the 12th people logged in and realised the nerf aka deletion happened, despite this they really tried hard to make it work anyways. They complained on the forums only to get ignored. This is the reason why we only dropped about 20k players on the 12th.
Today the 13th people is aware the deletion is there so there's no need to login and pickle their brain anymore since there is no new patch to amend this insane mistake. Yesterday people thought it was just a few complaining but still so many people playing. Well, there's your explanation. People was still trying to make it work and now they're starting to give up. This is just the beginning, it'll get worse, hell a lot worse. Today we lost 100k players, tomorrow probably more. This is also only the players lost on steam, we have a lot of client-only players lost as well, me included. ![]() |

" You have to consider people like me are responsible for 3 keys if not more. If I continue upgrading to the $480 pack like I planned I'll be 1 person who generated 5 keys. I did give my other two away, but 1,000,000 keys doesn't necessarily mean 1,000,000 players. |

" Player numbers are a clear indication of sales though. And it's sales what make games profitable or not, not the time people spend in games. They can even not launch the game once, it doesn't affect the bottom line. So "huge player numbers" at the start still show that the game gained a good traction and made a good revenue. It indeed doesn't mean that those 500-ish K of players will even complete campaign once, but that's not an amazingly important matter too. Last edited by just_dont#6539 on Dec 13, 2024, 10:11:36 AM

" If they did that Steam would force a refund, so yeah they have to release. It was a whole big thing recently. |

After running some maps I logged out from boredom. I don't see a way to make this work as a live service game. But Tencent got their investment back I assume.
