Ohh no, now your one button build got nerfed so you'll have to play the game at its intended difficulty and dodge once in a while :O . Boo-hoo, cry me a river.

GGG has all but actively alienated their PoE player base with all the differences introduced into PoE Deuce. Instead, they appear to be relying on a large influx of new players from the much larger general games market. Yes, those players have come, based on a pretty successful hype campaign. But there is a qualitative difference between your typical PoE player, who has stuck around (perhaps on and off again) with PoE, and gamers whose interests are more multifarious and more fleeting.
GGG got their payday with all the packs sold leading up to EA. The question now becomes: How much player retention will there be? Even if PoE Deuce came out of the gate a perfect pearl, short attention spans are short, leaving only die-hards such as have kept PoE afloat for over a decade.
PoE Deuce is a LONG way from being perfect, or even good enough for a lot of players. Between the casuals playing what their favorite streamers told them to play, and the few PoE habitues rebelling against what they (and, to be honest, GGG) deem to be a flawed game, what kind of numbers do we really see for PoE Deuce down the road?
It doesn't take a crystal ball to expect that the vast majority of "tourists" will pack their bags and take the next flight out to something else to play, while even those who find something worthwhile in the game may find it increasingly difficult to sustain interest unless GGG's development schedule shows some increased acceleration. Sure, significant numbers of Deuce boosters will always return for new patches/additions, but the casuals probably won't ever return in significant numbers, once departed.
And it takes a fair number of Supporter Pack sales to develop and maintain a game like Deuce. ='[.]'=
True that. And I have a question : I'm a long term kinda casual POE1 player, never really interacted that much with the community on the forums. Has it always been this, how can I put it, abrasive, or is it the influx of new (young?) blood?
Tribalism has become a much more widespread cultural norm in recent years, so no surprise that it's reared its ugly head in these fora over a deeply-divisive dichotomy in game design between PoE and PoE Deuce. The forum, collectively, hasn't always been quite this contentious, though certain issues may have magnified that perception for certain individuals aggrieved that their takes on those issues have received some pushback, let us say, or at least not the degree of approbation that they think they ought to have.
However, in the current paradigm, I'd say it's a little of both older hotheads and some "younger" posters latching onto a position to establish their allegiance vis a vis that divide. Keyboard combat has, for some, become a minigame of its own, and what could and ought to have been lively debate has come down to post-sniping and sophomoric accusations, often based on repetitive utterances of trite terms like "whining" which by rights ought to be earning a fair few of the offenders some time on forum probation.
Anyway, you don't have to play that game to enjoy either of the two which GGG has provided. If you do venture onto the boards, hereabouts, I might suggest Off Topic for a relatively calm and civil alternative. Seeya 'round the sunny shores of Wraeclast, Exile! =^[.]^=

Not a bad job for 4 days.
But we are long way from the target 10k player base.
We need to remove 400k more players, and your "NERF CHAMBERS" are just not doing it fast enough.
Hear me out:
- Double ascendancy requirement (20 trials).
- Triple monster HP.
- Half DPS of all skills.
If this doesn't do it, Idk what will.
Absolutely preposterous that you forgot to suggest every Rare mob should come in trios with regen life and drain mana each.

Heya, Whisperer! Glad you're enjoying POE2. Geonor is a jerk, to be sure, but he's not invincible. if he stops you for too long, drop me a PM and I'll try and coordinate a time when I can come in and smear him out of the way for you so you can continue progressing.
For the rest: you have to realize that the people complaining so stridently about PoE2 aren't PoE2 players. They're Path of Exile One players pissed off that the new game isn't an exact clone of the old one with a fresh coat of paint. They're invested in this game's failure because to them that validates the idea that POE1 is The King and they're not wrong/old for liking the old-fashioned Hyper Grinder ARPGs in the vein of Diablo 2. The absolute last thing they want is for PoE2 to take off and soar, validate GGG's experiment, because then Grinding Gear would have been right to develop a non-D2 clone ARPG and that cannot be tolerated.
They're not wrong for liking those games, at all, but this game isn't one of those and we're not wrong for liking this style of game better, either.
Hey there, thanks for the welcome and reply. You know what? I've actually beaten him the VERY FIRST try. Yes, I've got advantage of reading about cold resistance, but this also demonstrated me with the help of the (good part of the) community you can actually beat the game if you use brain. Plan your passives, read what skills, gems and orbs do, learn the attack patterns of the enemy, strive to improve and make all of it work. But I will definitely shout out to you if I'll have any trouble onwards, and thanks again for it. This game is so rewarding.
