Fact is POE2 is offering a lot of what people want, which is solid gameplay, CHALLENGING bosses and mobs, a good story etc…

Story is pretty meh at this point. The only reason the mobs and bosses are challenging is gear. You can have a shit build and still beat the campaign bosses easily with good enough gear. Or you can have the best build but shit gear and the bosses are nothing but a lesson in suffering. Since gear is entirely RNG, you have pretty much no control on where you fall in that spectrum. Not to mention that early in the campaign where you functionally have no build, the problem is exacerbated. Hell, I'd even say the boss mechanics are pretty basic and nothing special.

POE1 players also claimed they wanted such, yet abandoned ruthless without hesitation, and no one came back for ruthless. D4 also initially road on the idea of more difficult yet also changed course

You can progress while undergeared, it's just boring as hell. SHouldn't need to kite and dodge roll for 30 minutes to tickle a boss down.
The delusuin that poe1 will get even close to the same attention going forward is comical. That is not how that works, anywhere in the video game industry, or any oth industry, anywhere, at anytime, in the history of video games. The dodge mechanic is so poorly done that they should go back to the drawing board with it. The allowance for any small variance of hitting the numerous dodge rolls needed is miniscule. The game is not interestung enough to be this slow or difficult. I have no isssues doing other recent arpg campaigns multiple times because they are interesting. The interface needs a ton of work. This is likely going to be a 1.5-2 years of the same level of effort that caused the delay to poe 3.26 league. I hope they use that cash infusion from EA wisely. I predict they are going to have quite a bit less income to use going forward. Not as much loot means no need for more stash tabs, so less $$. I don't think they thought this through very well.

Correct you can. Unfortunately certain people like to equate tedium with challenge.

"Stick with dwindling PoE1 audience and don't even think about anyone else!" (c) topicstarter.

Dwindling? Do you even know what youre talking about? PoE 1 kept growing and growing non stop over all these 12 years, they amassed a legion of fans that would ALWAYS come back and spend more money on the game, they had literally no need to change the game all the way they did, they simply needed a fresh take with a new campaign, new graphics and a some more intuitive systems so the new players wouldnt feel lost and they would at least double their number of players and keep them playing.
But instead they turned PoE 2 in Ruthless mode (the drops are kind abetter now at least) wich noone liked or played, they are trying to be a darksouls and failing really hard at it because the two styles are not compatible at all, balance in the gameis complete trash where you have "soulslike" gameplay but the mechanics work exactly like PoE 1, examples of that are delirium wich is impossible to follow because os the slow gameplay, ritual enclosing you with dozens of mobs and an absurd number of deadly effects and/or chasing balls of death when you are now slow and only have a dodge roll wich does exacly nothing there, breach wich unless your build is a strong herald of ice build you gonna get melted but hundreds of mobs running at you in 2 seconds, trials 3 and 4 are overtuned as hell, im nearly lvl 90 and still dont have the 3rd one because 1 minimal bullshit will end your run right on the spot (the boss of the 3rd seke trial deleted my 4k honor in 1 second of standing in a poison cloud), man i could keep going all day, im still playing because i wanna like the game, i want Poe 2 to be good, but to be honest each day that passes i wanna play it less.

This game isn't dark souls lmao.

Its hard because your gear is absolute garbage, just go buy some on poe trade for 1ex. You can buy a weapon right now for any class any build for 1ex that will literally let you kill every boss in acts in less than 30 seconds. Buy some resist gear and now instead of 90% of boss attacks one shotting you if you don't roll, only 10-20% will.

Game is made significantly easier through gear, and you have an official trade site and extremely easy p2p trading that facilitates that. If you want a soulslike expierence, play SSF, but don't play tradecore/standard and just refuse to trade for some inane reason.

Oh I think buying gear from trade will [potentially] vastly increase the random player's power. A combination of 10 EX, Regal, Alc, and Chaos can can dramatically improve life, mitigation, and a lot of other things.

I do believe psychometirally there is a problem with tightly timed Dodge or Die .... but then again if you can CC the boss or down them so they don't do that then go for it.
Bro I literally did act 1 deathless with just Spark. You people act so entitled when you don't deserve anything.

Liking the story will be subjective based on the individual. I personally think it is interesting and is keeping my attention.

People tend to deal with opinions on extreme ends, “The game is way to easy” , “The game is way to hard”. Personally I have found it to be a mixture of both. Some of the bosses so far have given me trouble, some really haven’t.

As we learn more about the game and become better at using our characters skills, of course the game will be easier.

What myself and a lot of others are not wanting is the D4 experience of zooming around and exploding everything on the screen with little to no thought.

so you no longer get 1 shotted in end game...?

That´s the fun part, you do, constantly, 95% of my deaths in maps are from stuff nearly impossible do dodge that spawn right under your feet, you either dont see it in the heat or they barely give any time to get out, and it´s instant 1 shots, you lose the map and any bonus it had, you lose xp and you lose the will to play.

That experience is already at the endgame sorry. I've experienced both ends of the drop rng and it is absolutely infuriating. If this was EA where they were going to make changes, I'd have moved on after my first character was stuck in level 5-7 blues and whites at level 15 without enough currency to trade for anything. My second character however was blessed with a unique, multiple useful rares and plenty of currency by 15. Interestingly, since the loot change neither character has seen a useful rare. I do focus on the beginning experiences since the devs have stated that if a player makes it to end game the player stays, so making sure the beginning game is smooth and not a frustration is important. This does not mean making it zoom zoom, or lacking challenge however.

Yeah, I am not one of them lol. Trying to push for endgame changes now that hopefully more people are there. I skipped out on the endgame reveal because I wanted to go in blind and boy oh boy can it get tedious.
