just because people suggest changes to poe2 doesn't mean they want it to be poe1.
That's a very judgmental stereotype to throw, and prevents any sort of useful feedback.
Addressing a clear communication of the target audience is a valid concern. If that question is repeated often, maybe just answer it, instead of shutting down any discussion with ' oh you just complain ' or ' oh it's not released yet' or ' you are just X'
It doesn't matter who you are and what you want and what prompted your opinion. Maybe all those things are bad. Doesn't matter, as long as the discussion they prompt is useful.
Example : " Oh you just want poe 1 "
Ok.. well explain better what the problem is, and if poe1 has a better system for it, or solves a problem in a certain way, maybe use that information to understand what needs fixing. Doesn't mean you're gonna adopt the exact same solution as poe1. But at least it makes the problem visible.
1. People are leaving / Let them leave kind of arguing leads nowhere useful.
People are leaving , why are they leaving ? Unclear communication ? Ok, how can we communicate better. Should those people have left ? Did they realise something, did they get bored ? Maybe they had found something fun and that got removed. OK.. Why can't they have fun in other ways ? Clearly if you're having fun you won't leave. Something critical is missing that was being offered before and can't be found anymore.
It's not as simple as saying " People wanted auto-cast builds and now they ragequit"
No... people are more complex than that. They wanted fun, they wanted a feeling of having a build that synergies or work. They lost that, and they are unable to create a build that synergies. Maybe the solution is to communicate how to make a viable build better. Not re-implmenting auto-cast builds.

Poe1 players funded this game. If GGG can’t decide, they should just open two modes (normal and ruthless although it has been done in poe1 ) and see the numbers again that which one is minority.

The thing is, just because we experienced it faster doesn't mean the slower players won't hit these issues. We've seen all the content slower players are enjoying still, slower players have not hit the endgame wall, but want to try to dictate what endgame should feel like based on absolutely nothing. If you spent your 2 hours a week or night and not only did not progress but lost hours of progress, would you enjoy that?
I don’t disagree that you have experienced the end game before a lot of other players and no we are not trying to dictate end game right now.
What I am saying is there isn’t enough data to make a decision right now.
Similar to the beginning of the game, you had this handful of people complaining about how hard the game is and you have another group who is enjoying the challenge.
It’s different experiences for different people based on skill, classes played, and if you are a fan of more challenging content.
Again, knee jerk reactions shouldn’t happen until there is better data out there. Collecting data from a few vocal people on the forums and making a change based on that would be a terrible mistake.
You may not be trying to dictate endgame design opinion but there is a vocal minority that is. The discussion around endgame from that group shouldn't be about challenge (at this point). Really not trying to sound elitist, it's not who I am, but the people who have made it there quickly have demonstrated how we deal with the challenge in the game. Yes, there was some bug abuse, but I know not everyone took advantage of that because I didn't. I didn't have a special weapon that secretly rolled +infinite damage or life or w/e. I was and still am under geared. There was a brief period where my damage felt "good" and bosses took like 15 hits which felt reasonable to me. I still had to dodge to stay alive, but the fights felt great. The problem with endgame is how punishing one death is. I don't think there's a build out there that can't get wrecked by an unfair oneshot that deletes tons of progress in it's current state, so if we're keeping that "challenge" we need to lose the punishment. If the game were balanced to where you can always 100% avoid one shots with proper positions/reactions but we're not there due to the randomness/bugs/lag.

This game isn't dark souls lmao.
Its hard because your gear is absolute garbage, just go buy some on poe trade for 1ex. You can buy a weapon right now for any class any build for 1ex that will literally let you kill every boss in acts in less than 30 seconds. Buy some resist gear and now instead of 90% of boss attacks one shotting you if you don't roll, only 10-20% will.
Game is made significantly easier through gear, and you have an official trade site and extremely easy p2p trading that facilitates that. If you want a soulslike expierence, play SSF, but don't play tradecore/standard and just refuse to trade for some inane reason.
so you no longer get 1 shotted in end game...?
That´s the fun part, you do, constantly, 95% of my deaths in maps are from stuff nearly impossible do dodge that spawn right under your feet, you either dont see it in the heat or they barely give any time to get out, and it´s instant 1 shots, you lose the map and any bonus it had, you lose xp and you lose the will to play.
Its always fun when this happens when you're running to the last rare to kill (who happens to be on the other side of the map). Everything lost, time wasted. Why have 6 portals? Why not have a res limit?

This.
People only think the game is hard because they don't know how to make builds and the guides aren't out yet. If you always copy-pasted a build in PoE1, just wait a couple weeks and copy-paste a build in PoE2 and you'll be fine.
Its not even builds if any of these people posted their character sheet and weapon they would probably be laughed at for having like 8% resistances and some random weapon with nonsensical stats.

Ye, collecting data from veterans who have been with the company for over 12 years and seen all the community shifts based on how GGG acts related to the balance of certain aspects of the game (lots of new players, but they the majority will react the same way, new players arent a special type of humans that function different than the other hundreds of thousand that have been playing before), the veterans who most have over 3000 hours on PoE (me myself have 4500 just on steam and probably 7000+ total), taking the opinions of those veterans that helped making GGG what it is today in account seems like a really bad idea /s

In the past 12 hours of mapping my character has died maybe 7 or 8 times to one shots and 90% of those are to bullshit on death effect rares, and once to a skeleton that put a bleed on me in a bleed map and my charm was on CD.
84% fire res
76 light res
76 cold res
64% chaos res
50% block
2.5k life
1.5k es
20% damage reduction from ascendency pet
Altered flesh for ele dmg conversion into fire and phys into chaos for even more reduction
150hp per second regen
Shield helps tremendously. And Id have to afk in a pack of mobs to die.
Also died to a boss in a level 80 ultimimatum, but modifiers were awful and thats just terrible rng from that game mode getting too many debuffs i couldnt deal with eventually.
Also because of map sustain issues, i can not afford to run easy maps either. Everything is a alched t14-16 waystone with atlas that gives more rares and mods.

Next year people who like souls’ games will be going back to Elden ring, 2025 looks like a massive year for gaming and I am 100% sure Diablo will pick it up now.
If you want to stay on this road (which is your choice) your player base going to suffer, if you’re okay with that then fine, if not you will need to make changes as soon possible, people won’t wait around.
Either way, decide your audience, stick to it, and more important tell people what your road is now, because the worst thing you can do right now is not say anything.
They've been "telling people what their road is" since mid 2023.
There are no surprises in this game for anyone who's been paying the remotest amount of attention to prerelease media.
They've been giving influencers and the media steady previews for most of 2024, and those people have shared their insights.
Everybody who cared to know what POE2 was about knew what PoE2 was about. if you didn't? That's on you, not on GGG. The fact that you don't like the direction they took the game has no bearing on the developers' honesty. They were up front with us for plenty long enough to make an informed decision.
