Poe 2 is fantastic and on a very very promising way. Just relax, game is early in early access.
Playing with some newbies to poe at all and they love it. Some folks, look at player numbers, like a mature game. Those 500 people here crying about everything in every thread are not really important, this is a bubble, this is not the opinion of the players in general. I've already seen 3 different builds that had about 2-3 mil dps, which is enough to kill every boss in seconds
get good "buff grenades"
- Buff Grenades (Buff-Grenades) |

Is this an ARPG or Dark Souls? If you want to take an hour to kill a boss, go play Dark Souls. ARPGs should flow smooth and not make it easier for a caster to get to end over a melee with AOE all over the floors constantly.

" Played Bloodborne, Demon Souls, Dark Souls, Elden Ring....this game is not close to that difficulty. Also the bosses do rotate attacks on ranged classes, we have to dodge roll constantly. Difficult bosses are here to stay, and honestly its such a rewarding system compared to an easy boss style, This is the true successor to D2 that we have been waiting for. " Except this is a POE game (or its suppose to be) 100% the hype of POE2 will fall off and Most players will go back to POE1 because its just a better game. Last edited by melkoriii#5637 on Dec 14, 2024, 10:50:25 AM

" 100% the game will live up to the hype and won't fall off... If POE1 is more suited for you then go play it. As for those who are really enjoying POE2 let us enjoy POE2. Also, if you were such a follower of POE you should have been informed from Jonathan Rogers by watching some of his interview's on the new direction they were heading. yeah this is the thing that frustrates me the most about "vertern" POE players who are complaining its not the game they love. GGG for months showed everyone what kind of gameplay this was going to be, the direction it was headed, the audience they are trying to get, and didn't leave a single stone unturned when telling us what they were doing and yet people are still shocked when its not the same as POE 1. They even made it clear that they are leaving poe 1 because they know some people prefer that kind of gameplay. For me im at the point now, if you don't like the gameplay go play poe 1 and let the hundreds of thousands of us actually having fun and enjoying the experience play in peace. |

" I think the problem is this style of game isn't going to pull in any new permanent players either. The vast majority of the people playing PoE 2 in the long run will be veteran PoE 1 players looking to play a new PoE league (even if they don't prefer PoE 2). Most people who play ARPGs outside of PoE players are casual gamers that like things like D4 or Torchlight, constantly getting huge loot explosions and multiple uniques at the end of the map is what they're looking for. PoE 2 isn't going to appeal to them in the long run. For those people, they will probably just play through the PoE 2 campaign (or try to) before dwindling off at the start of endgame when they realize their home brewed build is not as great as they thought. There isn't some massively huge untouched group of souls-like gamers out there who are looking for PoE 2 who aren't already invested in PoE 1. I managed to get 4-5 friends to play PoE 2 who have never played PoE 1 or just barely touched it. I think most of them are enjoying their way through the campaign currently, but I also think all of them will end up not playing long term. I can already tell some of them are getting a little frustrated with things that feel unfair - and I can't tell them "Oh its just an EA balancing issue" because in my heart I know GGG wants it to be punishing like it is. " Granted, but it still doesn't explain all the excessive AOE all over the floors constantly and how melees are supposed to navigate that to do acceptable damage. |
|
" yes...yes there is. I've play poe 1 a bunch and since I started playing poe 2 i'll probably never touch poe 1 again. For me its a superior game for the style i enjoy. There is enough players currently who want to stick around for poe 2 to have its own community playing it. This was by design by the devs. You can go back to POE 1 if you like but a lot of us are here to stay :) |
