GGG think carefully about your audience.

You can roll. We get it.

"Stick with dwindling PoE1 audience and don't even think about anyone else!" (c) topicstarter.

Again I'm reminded of a quote from George Lucas about the Star Wars prequals. He was asked why he thought the prequals failed.

Except the prequals didn't end up failing, just their initial reception wasn't as good.

There's a very dedicated portion of the fanbase that praises the prequels more than the originals today. Not to mention the insane amount of universe lore expansion material they spawned. Star Wars would not be what it is today without them.

Which I think makes your quote perfect for PoE2. Once the initial complainers shut up and move on, maybe the game will have room to find it's true audience and grow for them.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but PoE client wasn't even present on Steam some time ago, right?

So that shows that PoE in steam slowly gained players, but it's not really clear how much of those are players that simply switched to steam client?

There's a notable 2023+ bump there (I guess coinciding with failures of D4 and Last Epoch), but otherwise it's not particularly amazing.

But yeah, let me rephrase: it's not "dwindling" audience, it's "not growing" audience.
Truth is that those who are complaining all over the forums are minority, I bet that 90% of those who are playing are... Playing - they don't have time to complain all over the Internet because they spend their spare time to play before real life hook them out of entertainment, there is valid feedback and there is this.. statements.... "GGG make Poe 1 2.0 or we quit!"
All they have to do is to stick to their vision and just adjust balance accordingly.

The complainer's will stay, due to them wanting to keep the hard style, they will have to keep nerfing every build that trivialises it.

You think its bad now?

I realised early i'm not the target audience for poe2, having to use 6 skills in a rotation on act 1 bosses is hard to transfer from one button andy builds.
It would be good if GGG makes a statement, decides on an audience cause it could go either way.

GGG already did. They said up front that POE2 is not going to appeal to all POE1 players. This is a big part of the motivation for keeping both games.

They are trying to draw a bigger audience with POE2, and the bigger audience does not play POE1, for many reasons.. but simple 1-button combat is one of them. The mainstream just doesn't want this.

"
I'm sure there are others who will now financially support this company, they've drawn in an entire new audience which I hope they keep, it's just a shame not all of us will be apart of that.

?? You are apart of it. With POE1. Which is not going anywhere.

In fact, they've already said that improvements and tech is already being pushed back into POE1 (as they both use the same engine)... so two games and everyone wins. Play what you like.

They will put all their effort, innovation and money into POE 2.

stick to poe 1. poe 2 isn't made for you
"buff grenades"

- Buff Grenades (Buff-Grenades)
"Diablo picking up" made my day. What they gonna do? Add some new goblins?
Blizz only cares about a quick buck, D4 will never be good just like D3 (and spoiler: D5 will be bad)
