GGG think carefully about your audience.
" Weird to take a failed mode that even people that praised it dropped to go back to normal modes and then try and make it as the main game... again (they tired it in early PoE1 as well) |

" +1 this. They had a vision with POE1 and they succeeded in the vision. They have a vision for POE2 as well. Let them follow through with their vision and see what happens. Personally I think their vision with POE2 will be lightning in a bottle. |

" PoE1 ruthless is not even remotely PoE2. |
|
" Less loot, meant to be slower, meant to be harder. About the only thing PoE2 has different in core gameplay is a dodge roll tacked onto it. |
|
" Their vision for PoE1 was a ruthless d2 like experience. They obviously didn't succeed with the vision if they changed it. Last edited by Nothv13#0740 on Dec 13, 2024, 10:09:27 AM

There is no need to speculate about your audience, just run an in-game survey.
I liked POE1 systems but overall the game felt pretty easy and not worth playing. This game has not lost my interest yet, not for a moment. I hate having to stop to do other things. |

I really hope they think carefully and then stick to their vision. The game is great but needs some tweaking which is what Early Access is for, to get feedback and fine tune.

" 100% agree Diablo 4 was made from day 1 for casual gamers. That's why it has massive negativity surrounding it. There is no way they will change that franchise into a Soul's like experience because it is completely foreign to their philosophy. Besides that, they know how difficult it would be to have a balanced souls like experience, and they have no skill, creativity, or ambition to attempt that. |

" Wrong. They had the same "vision" for POE1, tried it, failed, and succeeded when they listened to the playerbase. They tried again with Ruthless. I hear some people play it. And one more thing about this "vision" thing I see here and there. With all due respect to GGG and the awesome work they did through the years (and also in part in POE2, even though I'm not sold if the game stays this way), I don't care about their "vision", and neither should you. I care about playing a game I enjoy, and that can sustain, improve and expand over time. POE 2 in its current state isn't that in my opinion. You and many people disagree, I don't know if I'm in the minority or majority, and that's ok. But at the end of the day, what matters is the kind of game YOU like to play, not whatever the developer has in mind. It is absolutely the customer's prerogative to express discontent with what they're being sold (especially during beta, it's the whole point!). Defending their "vision" is the developer's business and ultimately I don't care one way or another. Go ask Todd Howard, he could tell you a thing or two about "vision". |

" Never played POE1 so I can’t speak to it other than it having a consistent player count. Diablo 1 had a vision, after that the creators had a vision for Diablo ll and it succeeded even more. I have faith that they are competent. From a long time fan of Diablo, playing the beta of POE2 is jaw dropping on the difference in quality of what they have done with this game. |
