Cast on freeze nerf and overall thoughts so far.

Because none of the other cold spells deal any damage and self-cast Comet is impossible; you will die to a pack of white mobs before you finish casting it. Freeze Sorc is functionally unplayable without CoF.

There is no value in a BRICKED skill that we all spent time and $ building. I took a week off work to wake up to a BRICKED week lol.

It's killing my will to play the game and I hadn't even gotten to it yet. GGG has nerfed every build I want to try out of existence.

First of all, Cast on Freeze was fun. Any of the Cast on's were. I didn't take someone else's build. Figuring it out and having it work was the most enjoyable time I've had playing EA. Then I wake up the next morning and it no longer works. Now they aren't worth the investment at all. The investment in +Spirt gear, etc. GGG didn't just nerf them. For all practical purposes, they removed the spells from the game all together.

My build is still functional, but slow. I play these games because I enjoy figuring out what works. The jump in power is what its all about. That was stripped from me and now it takes much longer to do the same thing. It removes the incentive to even look for interesting builds.

Note: If Cast on Freeze was only nerfed, then I wouldn't have minded much. It wasn't nerfed though. It was flat-lined.

Than mix some fire spells in? Get some crit? You have weapon specialization points for that. Do you not think that this is the intended power lvl? Also GGG hates automation so any uninteractive build like that will get nukes, Ghazys srs got hit too.

To the OPs point that the meta/cast on X skills placement in the campaign as a way to boost power and begin popping off: It felt almost mandatory to choose a cast on X as a caster. Because A) it was strong, b) there aren't any real choices. The support gem choices are limited, weak, have too many downsides. The skill gem choices themselves are limited. I

I look around twitch and people are playing a lot of the same stuff,which is a complete divergence from what you would see during POE1. People right now are doing dead eye/lightning deadeyes, they were doing SRS summoners, they were doing a cold comet sorc, a grenadier merc, and if youre doing any warrior, its pretty much 2h slams. Theres no variety within the classes them selves.

Myself, I started with sorc intending to go archmage ball lightning MoM... Yeah right. Not only is stormweaver weak AF (the stormweaver skill elemental storm does nothing, and I tried to lean into double shock which was weak), in my opinion, but archmage is waayyyyyyyyy down the line in getting (level 60 or something?) At that point, I had already re-specced to cold comet and my life was MUCH easier.

Balance is a problem right now. Choice, variety, build diversity is a problem.

I don't care about difficulty, I care about player agency. We have none.

Well, that's what happen when you just follow a guide blindly instead of learning/understanding the game. No need to fully respec at all, they will learn it when their guru will show the way

Damn there are even fire/cold split nodes on tres and the big nodes are close enough for weapon swap tree. You guys just want automation, dont you?

Well, that's what happen when you just follow a guide blindly instead of learning/understanding the game. No need to fully respec at all, they will learn it when their guru will show the way

As a person that didn't follow a guide, I don't feel like its worth putting in the effort to continue testing things if they are just going to be nerfed to death. And lets be clear, they weren't just nerfed. Cast on spells are no longer viable. Math.

If I do continue playing, I'm now tempted to seek out one of these gurus you're talking about since my time isn't rewarded.

I have a pro tip for you : if you can clear a screen with minimal imput that build will get nerfed to ground, if you can one shot a boss that build will get nerfed.

I hope that helps. This is not power fantasy game like poe1 was. Intended power level is something you have in act2.
