Don't listen to the whiners who want a one-skill cookie clicker.

I hope they equally ignore everyone that makes dishonest logical jumps from "a couple things such as XYZ need some tuning" to "you just want a one skill cookie clicker"

That's actually totally fair.

XYZ tuning I'm totally fine with. I hope they tune drops and damage and health and all sorts of little things. I just don't want the game to become about numbers instead of skill/spacing/combos/reactions.

Kabala regenerates her energy shield if you go outside the ring. I do think the ring is a tad too small, but otherwise it's a decent puzzle boss to encourage setting up AoE so you don't die to being mobbed by the adds while standing in the ring.

Doesn't she nuke the arena when she summons her bone prison though? So...what, I moved out of the nuke like I should but I moved slightly too far each time and so I get punished with some unintuitive nonsense penalty mechanic that isn't clear in any way, shape, or form? If that's the case then it's pretty atrocious design.

It took a ridiculous amount of time to kill her because both her HP and energy shield were way too big and she's just some unique boss in the middle of nowhere with no quest importance, meanwhile near the end of the fight I was dreading how tedious and lame it would be if I died due to running out of life flask charges, but fortunately I got her 1st try so it could've been worse.
Yes, you gotta get back in the ring right after her nuke. Took me about 20 tries but there was a checkpoint nearby so the only time I had to grind was when I intentionally left the ring to refill my flask.

I'm pretty sure I made a more than reasonable effort to get back in the ring each time after the nuke and the fight still took ridiculously long, so whoever tuned Kabala really needs to look back on that boss and adjust it a bit because it was very lame, very not fun, and it wasn't remotely clear that leaving the ring (for very slightly too long) would make her regain her energy shield in such a cheap way.
I want skills that actually do something. Having to dodge around a boss fight for 10 minutes to chip away at their health isn't a fun gaming experience.

You can say skill issue if you want but I've seen plenty of people who enjoyed PoE1 run into the same issue. For the people having fun with this game, cool, glad you found your game.
The way the game is now will only keep a very small community of players. I was under the impression the devs wanted to reach a bigger audience with PoE2. For that to happen they will have to make the base content more casual friendly and then add in endgame content that can be punishing and challenging to push the more hardcore players.

Unfortunately the pervasive stance from that side of the aisle is balls deep in the "you just want to afk" hole.

Hell people have accused me of it just because I think that the wolf in act 1 is going to drive away people before they get a chance to love the game. Trials of chaos in act 3 is also a bit absurd but that's a different story.

Most of them would watch the game burn before toning down a SINGLE thing in ACT ONE of the campaign.

Agree.

It was near perfect when it first came out. Just needed a slight tweak to drops. Don't let the PoE1 frogs ruin it with all the complaining. This is the most fun I've had in a while. Finally an ARPG that takes skill instead of gear.

Just remember one thing; the people that love the game aren't spending their time complaining on forums. They're playing the game.

Yeah definitely don't listen to the part of the community that has financially supported them for their life of there product.

Listen to the new players of which 90% will play for 2 weeks every year.

This is exactly what I'm thinking. Yeah I'm not one of the OG's but I learned to love PoE back in affliction (Isn't that weird, since there was SO MUCH LOOT OH NOEZ). STILL, I feel like 95% of the people that say "the game is perfect" yada yada, "please don't do anything" LOL haven't completed normal act 3 yet. xD There's A LOT of valid criticism, that only PoE 1 nerds can have, since they have a point of reference vs the "new guy" that hasn't touched PoE before nor entered a single map. So please GGG, if you somehow read this and you listen at all, make reasonable choices.

Huh. Yeah, the "don't touch anything" crowd are either a bit zealous or just overly defensive at this point after reacting to some of the more... questionable... recommends from folks.

I'd personally agree the Wolf boss at the end of Act 1 could probably be dialed back a bit. Eventually me and my buddy managed to take him down (twice with different characters) but it's definitely a heck of a learning spike and time commitment to get through. The trials have also been a sore spot for us to tackle, mostly cause the honor system is extremely inconvenient to approach if you try to tackle it when it first becomes available and don't have a build specific to ranged evasion.

I enjoy the challenging aspects of the core gameplay, but I also do sympathize with the pain that comes from certain encounters and mechanics in the games current form.

That part of the community supported PoE 1, and PoE 1 is playable right now.
PoE 2 is a different game, it has some flaws for sure, its EA after all, but some people literally want PoE 2 to be PoE 1. Helping to shape a balanced challenging experience is good, yet there are some people who just go "everything is too hard, we need 10x more loot, phasing dodge, more damage" and GGG definitely shouldn't listen to those.

The wolf in act 1 is fine??? FFS, Forsen can now easily get through Act 1 boss on HC after a couple of attempts, is Forsen a PoE veteran now?. Average Joe on softcore should not struggle too much if he has somewhat usable gear, a couple of tries and he's good to go. Count Geonor already barely does anything threatening besides cold beams and air slam, he is well balanced, moderately threatening but with clear windows of opportunity. Don't underestimate players that much.

Haven't had a single issue with bosses. They're well designed, moderately challenging, and very satisfying to defeat.

This Nile of tears is hilarious to observe.
