I get it, your a fan. but try not to let it cloud your vision it doesn't help to further a discussion it only makes the conversation dishonest.
Wrong. I'm simply a person who specs towards more HP, more armor, more resistances, more evasion, etc every time after I start encountering dangerous situations.
You are the person that ignores it completely, then tries to dodge roll instead of changing your build, then arrives at forums and starts writing lenghty posts about how you hate the game and how it should be made easier IMMEDIATELY.
I see you have not played then. There is no life on the tree you don't simply just "Spec" into more life.
There actually is life on the tree as well...

Every +5 STR node is +10 HP node.
Way to own yourself, sir.
Thats increased flat life not "More Life" And not a very viable option for characters that need dex or intelligence for their gems. Nice little "Gotcha" attempt though. You specifically stated more life though and life % increases do not exist in the tree.
One node a build does not make..

To be honest one of the biggest set backs of this being a "Souls like" is the fact that the one shot mechanics are more difficult to avoid. In souls like the one shots was easy to run away from or dodge roll out of, but in this game they track you while winding up making it difficult to get away from. Sometimes impossible if your movement speed isn't high. I'm okay with one shot mechanics if visual clarity exists and you can actually move out of the way. But this tracking you until the last moment that just ain't it. This isn't souls like, it's just a punishing game that poorly tries to mimic souls games. At least they got the You Died screen right.
Not to mention soul are not plague by latency. Hand-craft to make it mostly fair (lol)
I think it's a mix of Monster Hunter and Soul instead. Because Soul boss are not this spongy if you play normally (get drop gear and level up) and don't need to spend all flask. Rather quick kill if you actually use that series mechanic or perfect your dodge.
Monster Hunter is a marathon hunt that last 10-15 min on average player. But more forgiving when you fail. PoE 2 slap 3 style together and it's a mass.
To say that you have option to get better defense layer in PoE 2 is even more joke. What option beside your luck? You go back to farm same area over and over wishing this time you can actually got something so you can process? This is even worse than 90 era old school rpg like FF1-3.
In fact, I do support this kind of idea if it was end game content. But campaign should at least give player more option. You can make boss hard, but do it smartly. Not just try to mimic something out of blue. I don't want to fight Tree sentinel or Glintstone Dragon early. I mean I can do it, but it's for challenge. The pacing and difficulty is just bad for ARPG.
Slow in, slow out cuz I'm just a player.

Nice attempt at moving goalposts. Too bad you already proven that you didn't even read what main stats do.
It's pretty funny to see how ignorance and entitledness always go hand in hand.

Pretty much 100%, and its amusing to me people think GGG isn't attempting to copy souls here. one of the bosses is litteraly SIF.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sif_(Dark_Souls)
A direct clone.

Your assumptions are baseless and wrong, it's good to see that arrogance and intellectual dishonesty go hand in hand though.

Souls bosses got progressively longer health bars as time went on. Most Souls games people make reference to now (DS3 and Elden Ring) have massive health bars relative to player damage. Hell, Elden Ring's Fire Giant is infamous because of this!
Regardless, it's not that I or anyone else is trying to say "git gud." It's that the people who are loudest are furious that the game is demanding a modicum of their attention and calling it a draconian call for souls-y sensibilities. PoE 2 is not the same type of "relaxing" experience forum dads want it to be, guides be damned.

If the game have level or something to scale up, the enemy need to do the same. Not every boss is a beefy like Flame Giant. Other boss are quick to kill on gear. In ER it even faster since you can overlevel, use summon or use their weakness. If player can keep dmg the boss, they go down quick. The reason fight last long because they can't find opening or keep getting hit.
I talk like soul veteran, but believe me, I spend 6 hours to beat Crucible Knight with +2 weapon and +10 level due to my ego. 8 hour with Malenia, 400+ death all over the run and I know this.
My personal take is all about hard but fair. I die to Geonor only once, but because I have a habit of over defense (stack life early than dmg) Most of big attack I see in PoE 2 is not fair in my opinion. Specially for ARPG and campaign on first loop where player don't have tool of the trade yet.
It's almost on par with trial and error game like IWNBTG, mario neko or something like that. Glad that it's don't fall that hard... yet.
Slow in, slow out cuz I'm just a player.

4. boss is hard and defeating them reward you new and unique item/ability/mechanic instead of 2 blue and 1 token (may I get some unique relevant to my class while progressing the campaign in anyway?)
Eh, lets be real, most boss weapons in Dark Souls were shit and spend the rest of the game gathering dust in your inventory, unless you were on a challenge run for with exactly that weapon...
I can barely remember what weapons you got for each soul...

Yes in those games at least for the beginning they try to hint you what you need, from environmental element or npc talks, or just put the tools you need for the boss fight along the way you crawling to the boss room (you might miss but it's there). This game just assumes you know you need cold res for the first act boss and there's no way to make sure you can get that.
