Please understand why Dark Souls succeeded before copy its style
1. hand-crafted encounters instead random generated ones
2. interesting level design instead of a large but soul-less, repeating map for the only purpose of grinding through those countless white mob packs 3. rewarding exploration instead of dead end or empty container 4. boss is hard and defeating them reward you new and unique item/ability/mechanic instead of 2 blue and 1 token (may I get some unique relevant to my class while progressing the campaign in anyway?) 5. deterministic progression through leveling up and equipment upgrades instead of random currency slam and pray 6. unlimited inventory because no one will feel casting Homeward every 5min is immersive (well I don't think it needs to be unlimited in this game, but improvement is needed anyways) Since this game is kinda soulslike so I feel these might be relevant. Its really not that souls-like. The power scaling in Act 1-2 just needs tweaked.
By Act 3 you are plowing again, PoE 1 style. Once you get some gear, better skills, etc. |

" Yes it is... Bosses random one shot mechanics which you can't build defenses to avoid... check!!! All monster get reborn the moment you die and you have to re-kill them... check!!! Game gives you the bare minimum of power to make the game "beatable"... check!!! The only playstyle viable is dodge roll and kite all day... check!!! The game tries to keep the players playing with frustration and time wasting instead of investing in their fun... check!!! The game attracts the massive majority of the "git gud" and "skill issues" army on release making the community unbearably toxic and shitty to be in... check!!! This is a wannabe Souls game... or rather a horrible iteration of what the moronic GGG devs think Souls games are... they saw Elden Ring and thought they could make a ton of money so they quickly copied as much bullshit as they could regardless if it suited the genre of their own game... PoE2 isn't even a looter anymore... looters are fun because of the randomness of loot but in this game there isn't any randomness... it's extremely predictable... all white and blue mobs drop NOTHING and only elites have the chance to maaaaaaybe drop something mildly useful... so literally 98% of the monsters you kill in this game are useless XP fodder that offer you NOTHING!!! So yeah, care to beat my argument???? |
