I am worried that GGG might listen to the whiny "game too difficult :(" crowd

It is not about hardcore or casual.
I consider myself a relatively casual player.
I understand your sustainability, and I agree.

BUT:
GGG stated this is the game they want to make. People like myself enjoy the game they made and wanted to make, and I think that maintaining a certain level of gatekeeping against Karens who demand change (of something they don't even like) to cater to them is a good thing for the health of any subculture / community / game.

I've seen many games and many franchises try to cater to everyone and abandon what made them niche / special / the thing their core fanbase liked about them in order to either jump on a hypetrain or make it "for everyone".

Things are allowed to have a target audience.
Something that is for everyone, is for no one.

There are plenty of games that are more to the complainer's tastes.
Fans are allowed to protect their niche.

You're making an assumption here that I don't understand. You're assuming your the target audience and not the people who are advocating for what they see as improvements.

Considering it doesn't really appear you've supported GGG much I'd say your very low on the totem pole as far as who they want to be their "niche Community".

The target audience is the one who likes what they made.
I like what they made.
Therefore I am the target audience.
You don't like what they made. Therefore you are not the target audience.
It's genuinely not that hard, but on the other hand, I am no longer surprised you'd find PoE2 difficult.

It´s funny they made a game called Path of Exile 2 but the target audience is mostly players who disliked the first one that made them successful and known in the genre that they now almost completely wiped from a sequel. Interesting
op is losing the plot.

You just implied that only people who dislike PoE1 like PoE2.
You're wrong.

The plot is "just because you stand in shit and die, and don't know how to craft gear, doesn't mean the game is bad".

You're welcome ♥

A lot of this forum is not really arguing in good faith. There's a lot of vitriol towards people who think the game is in a good state or who are PoE vets.

I supported the game financially by buying EA access. So did you, I assume.
I like the game. You don't.
So play something you like, instead of demanding change.

There were people that liked beta POE1 and fought to keep it the way it was too. Just because you like it now doesn't mean it won't change and it likely will since the whole harder with less rewards didn't work for the ARPG audience in POE1, doesn't work in ruthless, and in all likelihood won't work here either.

Seems that way.
The OP is one of the most balanced, fair minded, logical, nuanced poster on these forums. They address each response with clarity, with concise explanations also!

I am so jealous of their intelligence!

P.S: There is a very clear pattern to those who are vehemently in the "I found the game of my life OMG OMG 11!!" crowd.

No no i said "mostly" did not say "all". And that is based on countless comments that started with "played PoE1 but did not like it, but i like this one...". I have read such comments all over this forum and steam forum.

Perhaps, but it's still worth trying to defend the game.
