PoE2 is simply not an enjoyable game and the player counts are going to plummet

Game has literally been in EA for less than a week and people are calling it dead on arrival.

It's EA. It's a fancy beta. Things will change. Yall acting like this is the version we're stuck with for the next decade. First time playing online games?

It may be a fancy beta but since they just ripped stuff from their previous game you can see a direct link to what the game will look like in the future. They took almost every part of poe 1 that the majority of players (non white knights) absolutely hated and crammed it into poe 2. No movement, makings mobs damage sponges. absolutely no drops, same trash trading. Its honestly a reskin of ruthless mode, you know the mode most players detest. They only made it pretty.
What? The game is much harder than poe1, it's not created for the masses at all lol.
Got to early maps, somehow I think the mapping experience is more miserable than the campaign slog. Giant, maze layouts where you need to constantly backtrack. Spend 15 mins in a map then you get randomly one shot and lose progress since there's only 1 portal. Loot is still shit, currency drops are shit. It's just more frustration than fun.

This game honestly just feels like a downgrade from PoE1 in almost every way at this point. Needs at least another year or 2 in the oven imo.

OP,

Your opinions are not facts.

I am loving the game as it is, even though I understand and agree that some tweaks definitely need to happen.

They will make changes and it will balance itself out.

Derp breaths.

Derp breaths...actually made me laugh, thanks!

It's not the sequel I expected to Dark Soul, I mean Poe-1... sorry. This game has some nice things, some good things, but it's not what I expected as a sequel, and I find that sad. Something happened here that changed the game for the worse, it lacks Poe's soul. When I get tired of the novelty of Poe-2 I'll go back to Poe-1 which for me is, even with its age, BETTER.

It even reminds me more of Diablo-3 than Poe. The graphics don't feel the same, nor the gameplay, nor anything. It's not my game. I bought the pack, but that's all it will be if it's not truly the sequel I expected to Poe and I can see that it's not going to be.

Because everything has generally been dumbed down for console. Gem system- dumbed down. Feels like there's 1 "right" combination of spells for each ascendancy and that's it. Zero creativity compared to PoE1.

Flask system- dumbed down

Crafting system- dumbed down (this is a good thing imo but not to this extent)

Game honestly just feels like a simplified, slower, more tedious version of PoE1 at this point.

Game feels like it's still in development you mean? Shocker! Why are you being so dramatic?
Fact is this is not a fully developed game, thus not fully released, thus things are buggy and features are missing. Take that into consideration.

I agree with your point, but not the title.

The game is way too slow. I am curious how is it going at the end game right now. I mean, PoE is the definition of fast farming and griding. For me the fun was on the fast actions, short time fun maps / sessions, trading and repeat.

Right now, it feels like playing truck simulator on a narrow city. You want a fast Deadeye? Yes, I take a little bit more than one second to cast a spell ! Are you not entertained?

Well, many people agree on it, I will not continue.

About crafting: even after years of PoE 1 I was bad. Cool, a simpler system, but right now, it is not simpler : it seems (I'm not late game) inexistant.

And what is going to happen?
- Only few late game viable builds?
- Everyone will be on the late game like D3 without having to think more than a minute ?
- Only farming ? Only for non working gamers who can play 12 hours per day ?

It still can be a good game, but it is clearly a wrong start...

...for the current player base of PoE 1.

And that's where I don't agree with your statement : "Player counts are going to plummet".

GGG is not here to please players.
GGG is here to make business.
GGG don't care to see the players who have funded the game leaving. They will say : hey, you can still play to PoE1 without any more update.

Other players will come, and play. As long as there is people the game will be a success. Just not the original fanbase, who spent hundreds of dollars to support the hack'n'slash "savior".
I agree with 100%.

The playstytle to use skill 1 to trigger condition to skill 2 to buff skill 3, is too boring and the opposite that I loved about PoE.

PoE 1 we have the same thing, but passively.

Also 100% true. Unfortunately this is another Diablolization. The PoE 1 was good but didn't made too much money because it was only for a niche. Lets make our brand, make it more popular and to a broader audience, make more money. Don't matter if we will lose our costumer base.

Sad but true. PoE 2 is far from what I wanted, but unfortunately not very far from what I expected.

I mean, I'm having an absolute blast with the game. I love the difficulty, I love the bosses, I love the focus on crafting up gear when you start hitting a wall. I love that every mod that spawns on items is valuable to some degree - even for niche builds. This game is already in top 5 all time for me.
