I just hit cruel difficulty and I think I'm already done. People playing endgame maps are also saying the endgame is horrible with no loot drops. The only people saying the game is good in its current state are copers. 99% of people are going to get to end campaign (or quit beforehand, more likely) and realize they have zero desire to do this slog all over again and roll another character.

There's a reason nobody plays Ruthless in PoE. For whatever reason, the devs thought it'd be a good idea to design the sequel around this entire concept of barely handing out loot. It's going to kill the game.

The issue with the game its trying to be souls like but without the reward!. Having played both DS3, Elden Ring when you kill a boss you get a unique item, when you kill a boss in POE2 you get 0. That's not a good mechanic at all, I do like the style they are going for but it has no substance and at times ask what they were thinking. You get body blocked on some bosses by small mobs which is annoying as hell, and some bosses you get no guidance at all. GGG need to make massive changes so that killing bosses are rewarding, less spongy health. The whole point is as you progress your character feels more powerful, im on act 2 and it's just a slog and unrewarding.
Drops are still trash for me. I can't see any relevant loot. Very few item drops and mostly white and a few gold. Rarely a blue, currency is almost non existent. Some people get better loot and I get maybe a tenth of what they get. How many hours should I play to even get better drops or even just a drop?
You deliberately programmed to have only white items to get dropped and they are not even relevant to the class we picked so these loot can be seen as trash.

Currency tab is irrelevant here since you hardly get any currency as well.

Could you dial this program/code down - not just a bit but a lot lot more.
This is too obvious and deliberate.

I have no issue if there's less loot in the acts, as some games can give you way too much. But killing 15 min bosses with no rewards is not even a souls like game, it's just a kick in the nuts.

Bosses need a rework in addition to a wider area to fight bosses, most bosses are in a very small area so 1 shot more. GGG also rely waaay to much on the roll mechanic, in souls game its mostly parrying which is NOT rolling. Meelee builds should be able to use parrying and they don't so shields are pointless.

Bruised egos of poe1 "veteran players" who are completely lost without guides. Dopamine-fried brains who can't appreciate atmosphere or go two seconds without seeing some junk item drop they don't even pick up.
Depends. POE1 was a giant inflation. I much prefer less, but meaningful drops than a giant pile of crap dropping that I just have to lose time over investigating. I prefer few chests, but chest that have a decent chance at rares or uniques, than chests everywhere dropping white crap. In general, less, but good mechanics instead of a giant amount of empty mechanics.

I can't say yet, if I like POE2s approach or not.

Also in ER the best defense is jumping since make lower half of your character immune for much more frames than rolling.
Game has literally been in EA for less than a week and people are calling it dead on arrival.

It's EA. It's a fancy beta. Things will change. Yall acting like this is the version we're stuck with for the next decade. First time playing online games?
