Who loves this game?

Or you know, it's players who started earlier in PoE life and remember what it used to be who enjoy PoE2? While it's not the same, it definitely got the same feel, at least in the campaign. Endgame starts to get to PoE1 stupidity level due to league selection. I'm enjoying the hell out of PoE2 and I haven't played PoE1 in like 5 years because it's way too fast, too bloated and too easy, except for few uber bosses, which are only hard in the most unfun way by spamming so much shit, doing so much damage and having such a large health pool that the only reasonable way of beating them is to just take the dumbest builds available and roll over them. And I only have a few supporter packs because I'm poor. PoE is the only f2p game that I spent any money on.

I liked it, I found it challenging. I like POE 6 years ago but what it turned into was loot goblin dopamine addicts who copy and paste builds and try to clear maps in 10 seconds.
There were points in the game where I died a lot, but I pushed through. I think if you're a person who complains a lot and doesn't have any grit/self reliance you will not be able to push through though. It does take a modicum of persistence and changing things around and thinking about things to beat. I did find the difficulty dropped off a lot after Act 2 though, and I think there's a lot to be desired from the AI, itemisation and end game variety. There aren't any problems with difficulty though. [Removed by Support] Last edited by CoryA_GGG#0000 on Dec 15, 2024, 9:13:15 AM

Hopefully not PoE 1 players.
What I've seen of them in these forums the past days hasn't been very pleasant to be around. HCSSF is the only way.

" This really is the key factor, right here. I have a lot of PoE-playing friends, some of which have been here since the Open Beta, and all but one of them are having a great time with PoE2 (the outlier isn't playing at all yet because he wants to wait until he can play all 6 acts and get the full story). And from talking to other long-standing members of the community, by far the most common factor unifying people who play PoE1 and don't like PoE2 is "people who weren't good enough to make their own builds." PoE2 was a painful wakeup call for all those folks who spent years copy-pasting other people's builds instead of learning the game's systems well enough to clear content on their own. It's like cheating on the homework over and over again, and then flunking the test because you didn't actually learn the material. But there are a lot of PoE1 players absolutely loving PoE2; you just don't hear from them as often because they're too busy playing the game. |

I didn't like POE1. The only things I liked about it were the way the witch says "That would just make life complicated" and the way Nessa said "Lioneye Watch isn't much but it's ours" before they changed her voice actress.
I came back for POE2 because it was advertised as a different game that I expected I would like, and I do like it. As for your proposed changes: Ascendancy points through campaign- Good change 20% increased walk speed- That's too much, but walk speed could be more frequent on boots. It will throw off the tactical balance of the fights if the player has a significant advantage in movement speed by default, and if they increase the speed of enemies to compensate, there'd be too much going on on the screen. Triple drops, force boss drops- Way too much. The drops are in a good place right now. Quest markers- No. I like to be able to explore and find things on the maps. Make respecc'ing cheap- It shouldn't be cheap because choices should have impact, but your character shouldn't get nuked without a respec by balance changes. Halve the health pool of white mobs- This would only further increase the disparity between them and the bosses. Players are going to get confused if they're oneshotting everything and then hit the boss and it takes an eternity to DPS down. As it is now, the number of hits it takes to kill the white mobs in the area gives you a sense of whether or not you're ready for the boss ahead. |

Unless this game gets actual fun builds to play and the campaign isn't a slow,boring,sleep-inducing slog to go through then I ain't playing it ever lol

I don’t want to bring negativity to one of the few posts where people are finding the game fun; I just want to ask a question to those who are currently enjoying the game (and I’m genuinely happy for those who are finding it fun).
Do you think this model is sustainable in a seasonal context? Are you convinced you’ll dedicate hours and hours every 3–4 months at this pace? Or are you experiencing it more like a classic single-player game that, once “finished,” you’ll revisit occasionally to check out new content? This is not a rhetorical question—I’m genuinely curious if those enjoying the game have thought about the seasonal context. |

" This here clearly demonstrates how little you know about game dev. Literally pulling numbers out of thin air, as if it's that easy to implement such changes without thinking of the consequences across the entire game. smh Last edited by Daric#6294 on Dec 15, 2024, 10:01:00 AM
