Who loves this game?

From what I've observed it's only POE1 players that are having hissy fits. There is constructive criticism and opinions out there, but I don't think new players at large feel anything but a challenge to overcome. So far numbers have been approx 500k peak a day vs usual POE1 league of 150k'ish. This has cracked a broader market and so far, they're sticking around. Time will tell but the new players I've got involved with, friends who play other games/bounced off POE1 quickly/enticed by the hype etc are all just enjoying progressing through the game. I'm sure each of them will hit a wall at some point and depending on what it is, might be valid for feedback or require a bit of advice.

see? this is the thing. people giving the harsh feedback are where your friends are not YET. this is whole point, and every feedback are for sure valid. You might see it coming vastly from PoE1 players because the systems are not THAT different. so ofc PoE1 players got to endgame faster than new players still learning everything from scratch.

which again, the only issue is people not knowing where the harsh feedback comes from just because they are not there YET. and just memeing ''PoE1 players BAD''

Never before have I seen a community of "veterans" so proud of:
- being bad at something new players find easy
- telling those who find the things they struggle with that they are new and "don't know anything" (?)
- not reading things, not engaging with endgame mechanics, and thus not knowing basics or lacking resources in a game they claim to be veterans at

we dont expect that a guy that wants a participation trophy for killing bunch of white monster packs with the same combo for 30 hours with super slow cast time and attack time in useless giant maps to understand us.

here is your medal. you can slog for hours. gj.

Well it depends on what feedback. Campaign too hard/long? Loot to scarce? etc etc. If you're referring to atlas progression and difficulty of maps/size of maps etc that's going to be largely no lifers who likely played POE1. Most people aren't making it to maps in a week of casual play because the campaign is more engaging and challenging.

And no one really gives a shit about constructive feedback. What's been pissing me off is the lack of perspective of it. It's week 1 of a 6+ months early access journey. Chiiiiiiillllllll out.

But I do think that new players will hit Atlas and have less baggage going into it. They won't have something to compare it too and may either enjoy the challenge more or eventually come to the same conclusion by different means/pathways. Both are valid and valuable. Hissy fits .. eh.

I feel like this all really validates GGG saying so many times in the past 'we have to be really careful because once you give it, you can't take it away'. And despite creating a completely separate game to enable them to do just that.. part of the community is rebounding hard off it.

Like, I have felt pretty fucking done with killing 1000 monsters a map while press 1 to 2 buttons and mostly ignoring what's happening on screen apart from pings from a super strict filter for 100 maps to spend 200 divines on an upgrade. Been there, done that.

I have beaten all of them, thanks. This is not my first or only account.
Even if I didn't, my posts stands.
Most people don't have 500 hours to sink into every single league.
Most people don't want to min max builds for 400 of those hours.
They need a part of the game that caters to a casual approach.

In POE1 you GET the hard grindy part of the game -you just get it at the end, not from the start.
I also see no arguments here, just trash-talking, as expected.
I was not telling people I am some gaming god, I am not. I am telling them this because I think I'm a reasonable arbiter of the average player.

And that should matter, as it is those that carry their entire studio, whether you like that or not.

Then you should post from that account, because posting from this account completely undermines every single one of your own points.

It does in your delusional parallel universed mind.

Except that "feedback" started 40 min after game release and the so called POE1 experts were no where even at act 2. There is indeed a large group of POE1 players that will complain of anything that is not POE1.

ok.. but why YOUR group POV should prevail? Specially since GGG already has a game and will continue with a game that caters to your group? That makes no sense on a company strategy... a new product that will coexist with a previous one MUST cater to a different segment. That is basic of business ....
I do, there are problems and stuff thats really frustrating, but it'll get there. Already addictive.
pretty much everyone except poe 1 players, as intended.

Yeah, very much this.

People whine AS SOON as they touch something that's different.

They launched the game and immediately whined "it's slow". They gained 10 levels and whined "it's difficult". They gained 5 more and whined "it's too focused on dodge roll!". Then they finally fixed their build (after tons of whining about act 1 boss), went into act 2 and immediately whined "maps are big, mobs are hard, too much oneshots".

Only a few rare players give feedback much AFTER they experienced something not particularly enjoying. Most cry as soon as they died or spent 5 minutes longer on the map than they think they should.
