Who loves this game?

The people with little or no previous support of POE.
Not brushing everyone under one rug here. Exceptions are out there. But most of the elitist "Just get good" or "make it even HARDER" are clearly players with little or no time in POE1 or that simply played it for free. I've been scrolling the forums here for most of the day on and off, and this seems reasonably consistent. I hope GGG takes note. Who pays you for this SHOULD MATTER. The big nuances posts of criticism usually comes from people with massive support over many years. Myself included. Don't get me wrong, there ARE good things about this game: Graphics Sound effects Voice overs Boss mechanics(mostly) Diverse build options A solid foundation for sure. Good job GGG! But build diversity is bottlenecked by wild gold costs for respecc'ing which is frankly outrageous. It should be made super cheap in EA so you get all possible feedback for balancing. Now it's the opposite. Lower costs of respecc'ing passives by the power of ten. At least for EA. Build diversity is further bottlenecked by ascendency trials that clearly heavily favors certain builds while punishing others. This is unfair, and extremely stupid in the EA stage of the game -se my forementioned post. Solution? Give all classes ascendency points as they progress in the campaign, award two points after act 2,3,4, and 5. As a temporary solution, until you have trials that are actually fair across all classes and builds. You promised enough currency to be able to self-craft gear. The drops are currently probably about three times too low or more for currency. In 30 hours I've crafted one decent item, and another OK'ish. That is not fine. Slower pace does not correlate with bigger maps, especially when there is a hard reset upon death, not fast travel points, and no quest indicators. This is not making for a difficult game, this is just disrespect of players time. Making white mobs three times as fast as the players, and HP sponges also does not increase difficulty. It just makes another chore, where you have to constantly backtrack and dodgeroll. The fact that my spacebar has been pressed more than any other button so far in this game is not indicative of a successful ARPG. I'm sure the critics will call me a tiktok brained zoom zoom doomer. But I begun my journey in gaming with Diablo one. I'm 43 years old. I have 5k hours in POE1 and likely the same in souls-like games. I enjoy both. But when I engage in a 15 minute dodgeroll fest of a bossfight, I get rewarded in Dark souls or Elden Ring. In POE2 you get a scroll of wisdom, 50 gold and two blue items you don't need. You have a great foundation, GGG. But you confused difficulty with chores too many times. You forgot that loot is the main incentive for ARPGS. You forgot to reward time spent and hard bossfights. And you are bottlenecking build diversity, not over overpowered builds, but gold costs and trials 90% of people don't like and at least 50% of builds are not equipped to do. This is early access. You need to get people invested, engaged, and incentivized to try builds, skills, classes. The clock is ticking. Your numbers will whittle and die out, and a lot will never come back. Easy patch to make: Ascendancy points through campaign 20% increased walk speed Triple drops, force boss drops Quest markers Make respecc'ing cheap Halve the health pool of white mobs 99% of people will love this change. Guaranteed. Then you can tweak as EA progresses, and release ascendancy trials that are fair across the board later. Last bumped on Dec 15, 2024, 11:40:21 AM

I see it quite opposite...Mostly people with 0-2 supporter titles are those who cry that the "game is to hard" and probably coming from D4.
Don't get me wrong but if you dodgeroll a boss 15 minutes than you def do something wrong. my build is whatever thrown together becasue of experimenting around and a boss didnt took me longer than 5 minutes so far. I know people are used to linear & trivial progression like in POE1 and D4 but in ARPGs it's allowed to farm an area 2-3 times to prepare yourself for a boss fight f.e. If you go into the fight full blue gear with crappy stats on them it's not the games fault. ;) Stop searching for excuses why you fail and start to search for solutions instead.....game is not even 1 week out and people already flood the forums and scream for nerf only because theyre to lazy to try different tactics, farm for gear/gold and experimentig with theyr char. I'm by god not a pro player in such games but I had no problem so far by figuring out things on my own.....everyone with around 100 hours experiance in ARPGs and a little bit common sense shouldn't have problems aswell. If u stuck....make a step back...farm gear...farm gold...farm wahtever...This is an ARPG, it all about grinding gear to beat the next challange. ;) Last edited by CroDanZ#1818 on Dec 9, 2024, 8:59:16 AM

My man, you are living in the most fragile glass house I have ever seen throwing a WHOLE TRUCKLOAD of rocks right now.
Maybe before you say other people are the ones lacking PoE experience, you should play a hardcore character to the end of act 3, once. Or kill Sirus, once. Or beat the Maven, once. Or the Shaper, once. Or Chayula, once. Or Uber Atziri, once. Or Aul, once. Bragging about 5k hours in a game you've never reached the end of is kind of an own-goal, not gonna lie. Also, did you know you can hide supporter pack forum badges? Because some folks don't want a single-line post to stretch halfway down the screen. Also, just get good. |

" I have beaten all of them, thanks. This is not my first or only account. Even if I didn't, my posts stands. Most people don't have 500 hours to sink into every single league. Most people don't want to min max builds for 400 of those hours. They need a part of the game that caters to a casual approach. In POE1 you GET the hard grindy part of the game -you just get it at the end, not from the start, like you do here. And this is EA, the good approach is to be inclusive, not exclusive, for many reasons, not just investment-vise. They also need balancing and find bugs. This is done with the most amount of players possible playing the widest range of builds possible. That benefits everyone. Better game, better balance, more money for the studio, and more happy players. I also see no arguments here, just trash-talking, as expected. I was not telling people I am some gaming god, I am not. I am telling them this because I think I'm a reasonable arbiter of the average player. And that should matter, as it is those that carry their entire studio, whether you like that or not. " Then you should post from that account, because posting from this account completely undermines every single one of your own points. |

Actually in my experience it's neither mostly experienced players nor mostly new players bashing this game.
It's just different and many people do like it while many don't. Me and my friend started together. To me, this is one of the best games ever made already. To my friend, this is a disappointment. We are both experienced PoE 1 players, we just have different ideas of what we want in a game. |

Greetings.
I have spent a shitload of money on PoE 1 and I have over 3500 hours in it. I love PoE 2. Don't speak on my behalf and many others. Peace. |

" Never in my post did I mention a skill issue. When it comes to dodgerolling 15 minutes, that is what happens if you play a character with long cast times and die a couple of times to any of the act bosses. Which isn't a problem in itself, the REWARD is. Read what I'm saying. How about responding to my arguments rather than what you made up the problem to be. I have died less then five times through the 30 hours. That doesn't mean I find it FUN, or don't see actual problems with it. I made a lot of suggestions that I think most players would like in early access, and especially during campaingn. They can scale the endgame to infinity and beyond so the elitist hardcore players get their pound of meat. I don't see why GGG doesn't try to cater to both. " My post said " Doesn't mean I targeted you unless you specifically do that. Read the entry. I wrote "who loves this game" to see who actually does. Thank you for replying. Do you disagree with any of my arguments? What do you love about it? It would be nice to know. |

I absolutely love it so far, such a complete opposite of a blasting game that Poe 1 was. I dont like stepping into a room pressing a button and watching everything go boom, its just not realistic. This game makes it so a little thought is involved and u need to be aware u might get whacked trying to facetank something bigger and stronger than you are. Im not a huge fan of the dodge mechanic either but I think if they tweak it to maybe roll through a mob and make the animation a little faster it would be fine.
I played Poe from Minotaur League on and Im currently trying to play D4 but this is total opposite of those two games. I like having to think a little bit and something new makes it fun to explore and try this game out. Its probably a little hard atm because its 3 days into a 6month or year long beta and it will change, this is not the final product. Ive ripped at least 7 times so far and Im loving it, hoping they dont cave and make it easier.. In game since Minotaur League..
