If they've alienated their playerbase, why are there over 486k players playing PoE 2 right now? PoE 1 peaked at 229k players all-time.

Because GGG is capturing the NON POE1 players that they alienated with their sandbox free-win game. Both old and new.

I really don`t get why people are complaining so much about the game.

I mean, game is a bit more difficult than POE 1, but not that much that "will get just 0.1% playerbase" (Source: I tHiNk). Game need some improvement, but not getting the mobs and making them dumb and weak, if u want to facetank everything and oneshot monsters, u already have u game, go for POE 1.

They never said that POE 2 was the same game. We have just 3 days of Early Access, why u guys are making such a mess about POE 2 will be a dead game.


Also, if POE 2 is too bad as u guys are saying, why we have 490-500k+ people playing this "annoying" game? I mean, if the game was this much difficult or annoying that will make people stop playing, why we still have this much players? (and its just steam, we have consoles, GGG launcher, Epic).

Relax and play the game, give it some time, don`t need to make it feels like the end of the world just because some people are thinking that the game is way too difficult or slow.

I'm new to PoE. I am new to ARPGs. I, like others, have started playing PoE2 4 days ago.
I tested out what works and doesn't work. I tested playstyles. I tested strategies. I've looked at the passive skilltree, searched "minion" (I'm playing minions) and connected dots I thought sound good and synergetic.
I experimented with crafting.
I engaged with the mechanics of the game.
When I died to a boss, I learned from that, learned its attack pattern and didn't die to it next time.

I think the majority of those whining about difficulty are those who are used to playing other people's builds, and mashing a single button on other people's builds to win, like toddlers.

What I genuinely don't get is how much they pride themselves on being "veterans" who struggle with basic mechanics. They call others "tourists" and poke fun at the "new player", like it isn't even more of a self-own to be told by a "tourist" that the thing you're struggling with as a "veteran" is, in fact, not difficult.
HCSSF is the only way.

Helldivers launched with 500k its now at 20/30k.

I have more uncut gems than I want to bother with. Unless you're changing skills a ton I would thing there's enough.

That many on steam ... how many are using another client?
The balance is fine, Im only in act 5 (act 2 cruel) and have gotten there blind. If you having to run a zone 8 times then you have prioritized damage over survivability too much.

I will say the early game currency drops need a boost though.
