acts are not the same as mapping, one is waiting for it to be over and the other is refining whatever build you are playing gearing it and progressing on things that actually matter, its just like mmos, take wow for example rush to level cap the boring part t hen mythic+ and raid the fun part

" See this is exactly why gamers today will never be happy. Everyone wants instant gratification. Acts - finding items and leveling up Maps - finding items and leveling up Why are you (and so many others) fixated on getting to the end of the game so fast? I played D2 countless times, I didn't need Uber Chaos zones to have fun, the game was fun - the whole stinking game. "the premier Action RPG for hardcore gamers."

call it insta gratification if you want but its more just what the majority of ppl find fun, for me going through these very long acts is not fun barely any move skills and no quicksilver i has nothing to do with the "difficulty" the one thing ill say about that is for casuals boss hp shouldnt reset on the casual campaign on death lol. i have no other issues with the "difficulty" just bro its so slow so so so so slow and when we are making upwards of 5 builds per league who wants to spend that much time just to get to endgame to have fun against a boss with a meme build for a few hours then onto the next insanely silly theorycrafted build

" This!! I just don't get the point. It literally serves no purpose other than being annoying and frustrating. Even in Ruthless PoE1 the zone doesn't reset on death. |

You don't have checkpoints in Ruthless though

" When I was young, I played EQ2, a lot. Like raiding 6 nights a week, on call for world bosses, world firsts all that stuff. Prior to that I played CS, before it was source, while it was in Beta, and played it well enough to win money at it at LAN tournaments. I played CS every night, all night. Later I played the original COD Tactical Realism as part of the Tactical Realism Alliance, back before many eSports things were super popular. Later, Starwars Galaxies before CU, when you had to grind your way to jedi etc. I say that because all of those, "hard" things, were not actually that hard, what they were was time consuming. You became "gud" by practice. Clan matches nightly, raid walk throughs, raid practices runs, etc etc. Time, they all required significant time, that is all. Almost anyone could become "gud" with just time. Its the same now. Only I don't have the time to spend, and frankly, the amount of time I spent doing those things was wasted compared to what I could have been doing. So what I want is to not spend stupid amounts of time on the boring, unimportant pieces, I have enough things IRL that have me doing that, I want to just play the enjoyable pieces and I dont mind paying money to do that. I've zero interest in farming for 6 hours to gather currency to craft gear to maybe have a chance and upgrading to possibly try a boss etc. Zero accomplishment from that. It's not fun, its not enjoyable, it's a waste of time. It's not like that for all players, and I get the rush of putting in the time to do hard things, but I also understand how absolutely pointless and a waste that is when time is the only currency we can't get more of. Weird take, but games are all "Pay to Win", they just charge you the only currency you can't make more of. None of it is hard, its just learning, practice and time. I'm done buying anything until we get some clarity on the future of POE1 and POE2 and I know GGG plans to spend effort on a game I want to play.
Tell us if POE1 still has your top tier support or if POE2 will get a mode for more casual play. |

So you are basically saying you went from hardcore gamer to a casual one (no offense) and that you kind of regret being hardcore gamer that you were. I agree with few points you made and disagree with some. Some games are hard, brother and some players are more talented than others and require significantly less time to learn these, than for someone else. Saying they are not hard is like saying learning to play a piano isn't hard. Oh boy, it's hard. But almost everybody could learn that given huge amounts of time sunk into it. But that is a matter of view, right? I am also not young, I was also a hardcore gamer, semi-pro you might say. Quite a succesfull one. And I don't regret a single minute putting into it. It was a great time. That is the difference between me and you, I think. In the present days I am chooding games very carefully. But when I choose one, I play it pretty hardcore sunking countless and countless of hours into it. It is my biggest hobby. By this I want to say, that PoE2 is a complex game that needs your time and attention to fully enjoy. It is not very casual friendly game. I am super glad that it is the way it is. And I am sorry, but for casual players, there is Diablo 4 here. I bought it, played it, no issue. No real challenge, just a small savory and that was it. PoE2 is in a great direction for true hobbyists and in a wrong one for people that just want to relax not thinking about builds, strategies, not wanting to grind anything, etc. Last edited by kubizek#9034 on Dec 10, 2024, 5:07:04 AM

" If you stand in red puddle and you die, the normal human IQ thing to do would be to not stand in red puddle next time. When you die to a mechanic, you learn for the next time and don't die to that anymore, because you've seen how it works. I am genuinely baffled at the amount of players for whom this is apparently not the case. HCSSF is the only way.

" Yes, exactly! I am also really baffled by some comments in here. |
