Yes, it's intended. You can only socket each support skill once per character.

There would be the Gemling Legionnaire (Ascendency of Mercenary), who is able to Skill into it (#5 Gem STudded)

To hear GGG tell it, this restriction promotes build diversity. If you could use any support gem any number of times, you'd just choose whatever supports give a skill the most damage, like in PoE1. Where in PoE2, skills are more situational, and you need to decide with your support gems what place you want each skill to have in your build's gameplay.

they should probably "buff" the skill speed of pretty much every melee skill. I'm almost done with A2 and still using mace attack because overall it does the most damage.

I'm dissapointed with this PoE2 game.

Build diversity? Since when did that become a goal for a game?

I thought "fun" and "accessible" were concepts designers were pursuing in a game.

And does POE1 not sport enough build diversity?

I play a Summoner/witch, I have multiple different minions and I can only have one supported with ie. Meat Shield (incr.life), or Persistence, etc.


This is NOT diversity... it's the EXACT OPPOSITE of diversity.


Why should we be not able to use ie. Persistence (increased duration) on a minion skill gem and on a totaly different skill gem as ie. dunno, some cast spell.
That gives ZERO SENSE.
Has nothing to do with diversity. It does the exact opposite, FORCES a player to use INEFFECTIVE support gems, instead of BiS.
