People do nothing but complain. In the 20yrs I've been using the internet for video games, I have never, ever, seen a game release without people seething about the stupidest things.
I think it genuinely makes people happy to be miserable.

you can see the size it requires on steam at the bottom. There are systemrequirements so its 100+

you can see the size it requires on steam at the bottom. There are systemrequirements so its 100+
but why cant they just tell us? why all the secrecy? now people are saying its 120B not 100GB. that 20GB extra makes a difference to some people with slow connection

I'm not sure why everyone here is assuming that pre-download won't be available. During the stream there was no direct NO nor YES answer. Jonathan mentioned that the datamining is an issue and that PoE2 is especially vulnerable cause of the amount of new stuff it will bring.
He mentioned though that he understands why one would want to have the ability to pre-download the game and that they have to talk that through to see how they feel about it.
So can we be sure that pre-download won't be available? Nope
Can we be sure it will be available? Also nope
They still did not remove the info about it from FAQ so i hope it will be there.
If it won't though then it's not really a big issue - I'll play a day later.

Not possible. Every action is going to have detractors. Always has, always will.
Gaming almost has a dedicated sub-culture of complaining about crap that doesn't really matter at this point.

This is the correct answer. People are freaking out that he said that it definitely won't happen, but that's not at all what he said.
The big thing is that the FAQ says yes it will be, and Jonathan either didn't know that, or they've possibly changed their stance.
I suspect that it was posted by the community team and Jonathan just wasn't aware, and they'll come to the conclusion that it's fine to do a day or two early, since they committed to it in the FAQ.

I get your point but see it from my or the other guys pov. I love poe1 its one of my most played games out there. I honestly think the only f up they ever had was archnemesis so seeing how they deal with this situation or rather the 2 situations is sad. I want to play with everyone at the release and not start from behind.
Economy is a big part in this game, I know alot of ppl play ssf too but im a sc trade andy and a day late means most of the time your at a really huge disadvantage

I do hope that they'll let us pre-download the client atleast 4 hours before the launch. My internet is garbage eh.
And if it's few hours before launch who really cares about the leaks anyway...
