Feels like a scumbag moment from GGG

Its not 30 bucks for EA. It's 30 bucks for 30 bucks worth of points that comes with an EA key

Except it's not. GGG makes damn sure that it's effectively presented as a major new release. The hype, the content previews and all activity centres around December 6th and not some vague release date in the future. GGG knows damn well that players don’t want to wait so they’re leveraging FOMO in order to sell what's advertised as free-to-play.

For me, even if PoE2 is half as good as PoE1 is, then $30 is a very low price.

Irrelevant. Offering values doesn't justify dishonesty.
I think GGG have simply made POE2 look so unbelievably good that almost no POE fans can resist buying the EA entry.

To me this is so exciting, I don't see how as a fan of the game you can see this as a bad thing. I want to be excited, I want to be hyped. Best of all GGG do not have a track record of taking advantage of these feelings.

So I say just let yourself be excited at how good the game looks and for how GGG will be rewarded financially for all their hard work. Its a win win in my eyes.

How are you missing out on anything by not playing the beta? Fear of missing out on playing an incomplete game devoid of half the act content/classes/skills/weapons that will be riddled with bugs. What?

Sure they are hyping it up because it's finally the chance to show the general public what they've been working on for the last 5 years. They can't pretend it's the finished article because it's clearly not.

The issue isn’t that it’s incomplete, of course it is, and will likely always be under development, technically remaining incomplete forever. The real issue is that they’re charging players for it now, disguised as early access when it's supposed to be free-to-play in the first place. It’s a classic overhyped FOMO sale while hiding behind the excuse "we're not finished" as a shield.

For a pay-to-play game, charging for early access makes some sense as they borrow revenue from future sales, but for a game that's supposed to be free-to-play? Not so much.

Yes, they’ve been working hard, and yes they want that to taste that sweet revenue, but then just swallow the pride sell the damn game as-is. Don't pretend to be this charitable company that's offering a game that's free-to-play for everyone.

And let’s be honest, if you’re okay with this, you’re basically accepting that future free-to-play access equals paid access.
Is this the definition of getting "One-Guy'd"? :D

You are, sorry to say it, quite clueless about what a service is. They offer you one service for free.... but they offer you other service for a fee. Playing in EA is service B. Playing after December 2025 is Service A. simple as that!

NO THEY DON'T.

Every time they make sure to make it damn clear, that the game is half complete, with a lot of missing content, bugs, unknown outcomes.

How is this FOMO? What are you missing out by not playing the EA? Unstable servers? Half of the bosses missing? Half the classes missing? Buggy mechanics? Please explain to me what are you missing out? You will LITERALLY have twice the content on release than we get in the EA.

Just wait for the release. You don't have to spend a penny on the game, and get full experience for NOTHING.
Let me get this right .

the game will be free when it gets to 1.0
But you dont want to wait , you wanna play now , and you are mad you have to
pay 30 bucks to do it ?

and on top of that you get 300 points to buy whatever you want .

you know what , Get out of here , go pay blizzard 90 dollars for 3 day EA .

Ban this guy.
The game is free. You just have to pay to test it for them :P
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
