You've considered them one and the same, of which they are not.

30 bucks relative to the return on how much fun, time, and in-the-know that 30 bucks will provide to you is just laughable.

If 30 bucks is legit something you can't afford, then yea that sucks to be sure, but that doesn't justify your hostility. Your 'scumbaggery' designation (regardless of your financially-fueled opinion) is misplaced and grossly disproportionate to your grievance.

If you still seriously believe that it's a 'scumbaggery' move on GGG's part, then the time will soon be upon you to best buckle-up and hold-on real tight because apparently life hasn't even begun to **** you yet lol.

OP, here is the difference between the way you are processing the EA pricing and the way I am processing it.

You believe you are entitled to something you are not, and therefore you feel totally justified in trashing a company that has had quality free content in their game for over ten years; so you question why they can't see it your way.

My only question is will POE 2 be the best ARPG this generation, or will people look back with confidence that this was a once-in-a-lifetime release for an epic masterpiece?

I guess people are ignoring the fact that Early Access IS free...

You pay 30$ and get full value on shop points AND a free key. If you paid any amount of money just for the key it would be a different situation.

This way, you're being rewarded with EA for choosing to spend money on the game.

Isn't that a fair way to do business?

what's scumbaggery is the removal of regional pricing. Like ban the abusers and give us back regional pricing, and up it a little. At least i'll actually buy something, instead of not buying at all.

GGG already explained their reasoning behind this (they want people already invested in the game to be playing/testing it) - and judging by the huge response, it seems they could have pushed the pricing even harder.

I'll be honest, POE1 proved that GGG is worthy for doing that. For me, buying EA key and supporter packs means more than accessing the game. It means their fair and honest approach for making games worth all my gaming budget to throw.

When I saw PoE2 reveal and Q&A, they had more vision and plan than most of the other gaming companies altogether. When they told us endgame will be massive, I was calm (and hyped of course), thought that yes, we will have enough stuff to do, not just beta testing the game.

Funny. This guys is calling GGG scumbags for charging $30 for EA access, and I'm just sitting here thinking if I should pay $100 or $160, LOL.

People are so God damn entitled, wanting everything to be free.
THIS IS A TESTING PHASE, FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO SUPPORT AND HELP GGG DO IT.
This is NOT a release. For me, even if PoE2 is half as good as PoE1 is, then $30 is a very low price.

If it's not worth it for you, then don't buy it. No one is forcing you to play now. They announced it from the start that EA will be paid, even PoE1 was paid.

Also, the 30 bucks paywall is there to actually decrease the number of players in EA. They won't have release level of infrastructure to support the game as if it was with free access. If I remember correctly, at the end of EA the game will be twice as big as at the start of EA, so it means we will be playing half backed game. This is in no way, shape or form a release.

This is all annoying as hell, because it's exactly what people moaning about Ashes of Creation are doing.
