Feels like a scumbag moment from GGG

Frankly I wouldn't care if this game had a $70 box price. I would pay it. IMO this is a AAA quality game being given away at a fraction of what it is worth.

Nah. It's almost like you're caught up in your feels. Chill and wait if you can't get into early access. Or look around your house for random stuff you don't use and can sell.

Stop acting entitled. The official POE 2 release will be completely free.

They just worked for YEARS on POE 2 without compensation, now they're finally starting to get their payoff. Let them eat.

Closed beta does not equal EA. POE2 has already had its closed beta. It was invite only and for testing purposes only, like beta should be. POE2s EA is the same as POE1's open beta, if anything it's far further along in development, just now it's being paywalled.

It didnt have closed beta. It had demo. Point me the difference between ctb and EA because i cant see any. Again i want facts not opinions. Also no, amount of content doesnt matter. Its exactly the same as poe1 beta.

Its almost as if they are arguing that early access should have been released at a less complete form for may years and they would be happy to pay the price for it.

It is so damn weird.

yeah but gamers do not care about early access title or anything like that, they see the game being released, they want it like hungry dogs. GGG is just charging $30 and taking advantage of people because they can get away with it and will make the money as if this is a paid release of a game when its NOT. Having their cake and eating it too at our expense.

I think GGG reserves whatever way they want to monetize the game. It is up to you whether or not you enroll.

On the other hand, I think even the early access pack give you so much more content comparing to D4 at this stage. I personally see this a very good deal if you can endure spending money on that game.
or be like many of us and get "free" key because you spent more then enough money already

- The game will be free after early access.

- Early access wasn't really as established a concept, at least not on any platform like steam when PoE1's Beta releases were underway. Comparing them will not bare digestible fruit. There will be no closure trying to argue, to the death, whether this should be called a Beta or an EA.

- As of the 6th, they will be hosting the two best ARPGs in the market.

- There's no subscription, or fee once the EA's over, and GGG will continue to provide both games and ongoing expansions for free.

If you feel like GGG are scumbags for asking for $30 to play the EA (assuming you haven't reached the lifetime support for free access), show GGG just how much they're losing and don't play! Show the community we're losing such valuable input! The kind of mentality that instantly resorts to insults and attacks if not given the best ARPGs for free, right now, is the kind that will be sorely missed. That will show them!

I'm struggling to come up with new goals to keep me playing this game.

Now your just trolling. it was announced on the poe2 website signups for closed beta, as well as on steam. The closed beta has come and gone. EA is essentially open beta but with a paywall unlike poe1.

I'm also seeing alot of people replying without having read the complete thread with comments like hurr durr why you don't think ggg deserve do get paid and if you don't like it leave. This is completely missing the point. The point stand that GGG changed the monetisation from poe1 to poe2, while claiming the game is F2P. That's a scummy move. If they had just said yeah poe2 isn't Free to play nobody would care.

The facts remain, The game isn't free to play if you have a price tag on release and early access is release. It has been sent to the presses for review and anyone can play it. Provided you pay up. Unlike a closed beta, which is by definition closed.

So, what you're saying is that it's an Open Beta that isn't Open. One might call it a Beta, even.
You are calling a company that has given over a decade of free play "scummy" over semantics. Insane.
