I agree. I invested some money to buy a friend before the 30 dollar early access to get early access with the threshold to get early access. But unfortunately he seems to have disappeared off the face of the internet and he might be in trouble somehow(not on any service like steam,discord or battlenet). I am really worried. Puts things in perspective for me.

People are complaining about a tiny amount of money but there is definitely more important things in life. Enjoy your time and play with friends. You don't know when they will be gone.

The point about media access and streamer hype is critical, because if the game is ready enough to be paraded before streamers and reviewers, it's hard to argue that it's "too incomplete" to offer free access in its current state.

Thats not your decision, the game is not complete and no amount of your trying to frame it from different viewpoints will change that. Half the campaign is missing, half the classes are missing, and i'M quite sure that much of the endgame is missing too. so open up your wallet and take it like a man. Or be a nice fellow for us all and don't.

I remember similar amount of complaining when Larian announced EA for BG3.

I wonder if GGG should have just announced that Poe2 would be 60 usd EA and free at launch for those took part in EA.

Claiming incompleteness doesn't justify selling the game early when it's marketed as free-to-play. The game may be missing content, but it's clearly functional enough for media and streamers to showcase it. If the game can be hyped and sold as ready for those who can afford it, then it's hard to argue that it couldn't be made accessible for free to the rest.

BG3 never claimed to be completely free, and paid early access in a pay-to-play model is essentially borrowing revenue from future sales.

The thread is built on a rather subjective term; "scumbag". To take the term at face value, I don't think GGG have been neither dishonest, unkind or unpleasant. Never have they said that EA would be free. I don't find it unpleasant at all that the EA costs a small sum. And it's definitely unkind for a company to have some sort of income related to their work.

A funding model. Pre-release. Continue development. So if it's facts you're after, you should start with your own expectations and view on what an EA is and how "free the FUNDING model should be". So maybe you're right, not all opinions are equally valid. Your opinions on what an EA is, and how "complete" PoE 2 is, are rather invalid.

Nothing wrong with paid EA . but they could have gone a little bit more to meet us halfway .

Given keys to people who had X hours in the game .
Hosted key giveaways .
maybe some random key drops during their stream .
