Feels like a scumbag moment from GGG

Offering value doesn't justify misleading marketing.

What misleading marketing? Game is free, on launch, not EA. It amazes me how much mental gymnastic you guys put into this to try and justify a braindead point.

The game is free at launch. If you can't wait, that isn't GGGs issue. It really sounds like people are just salty everything isn't handed to them for no cost. Don't wanna pay, play on launch? What are you not understanding?

23 pages of this nonsense?

23 pages of people trying to argue the game isn't free because they want to argue the EA is the launch of the game. This is Olympic gold level mental gymnastics here. We need some judges giving scores.

It's purely for people wanting to support and help GGG make the best game possible. If you don't want to pay then just wait until it releases and it is free. It is painfully obvious that people who love GGG will want to support them and their vision. Such a pathetic take on early access.

That's a bandwagon fallacy. Just because some players are asking for specialized stash tabs and other features to pay for doesn't automatically justify them, or paywalling access to the current playable version.

The "buggy" argument is also flawed as the developers could simply choose to let players access the game for free during early access, as many free-to-play games have done in similar stages.

No, its not falacy. GGG also doesnt need justification for any of this. They could also choose to let only those with 1000$ spent in. It would also be ok. In fact they made us a favor to let us play for so cheap. Its closed beta. Name me 1 game that let everyone in. Until you do you are full of sh.it. Im waiting.

Early access, also known as alpha access, alpha founding, paid alpha, or game preview, is a funding model in the video game industry by which consumers can purchase and play a game in the various pre-release development cycles, such as pre-alpha, alpha, and/or beta, while the developer is able to use those funds to continue further development on the game

Why are you so salty?

It essentialy is, just name changed some time ago. Same happened with dlcs, they were called plugins or expansions depending on size.
Day one of the full release is free. Stop being purposefully obtuse.

So a Free game is going to get sold for $30. Probably sell 1 million+ copies just for the EA and this will basically just be the game release and they will rake in the dough as if it a paid game This reeks of scumbaggery.

Game: is free
Company: makes millions selling copies of the game for $30
GGG: ;)

This is so fcking deceptive, for 30$ u get 300 points AND access to poe2 early access. Also you can have 480 total spent and get invited, or have a friend that gets you a key, because bigger packs come with extra keys.

As for them "rake in the dough" big, i hope so.
Blood and Glory!

interesting. certainly has a different ring to me, maybe since closed beta felt more.. closed. I remember you needed an actual invite with credentials to get them, not few $. edit: not that i'm arguing against what you said. just didn't know about name change

Its exactly the same thing. PoE1 also sold closed beta access. They had random draw added on later.

I bought the $60 EA pack because I believe in supporting game companies that cater to their player base. I was already entitled to a "free" key because of the money I have spent over the last 5 years, but I felt that GGG had put in a huge amount of work to create something great for players, and that deserved a little extra.

If you don't want to pay $30, don't. Just wait until it's released and play for free. Nobody, least of all GGG is forcing you to play EA.

This is what freedom of choice feels like.
I was going to do 30 but 60 is gg
