Standard enjoyers?

If Standard had as active economy as league id play it more often.

Id say all things considered min maxing in league is almost as expensive as in standard but decent middle of the pack gear is much more affordable.

This is my current character, ive spent around 150 divines on it
Now tell me how much id have to spend in Standard cos every time i check on items like my wand i see prices of one mirror and above

I've never had a problem buying items in standard even low priced ones. Sure there are time when I need to ask 2-3 different people or ask one person a couple of times over the course of 10-15 minutes, but patience usually pays off.

Play league to get rich, minmax, etc.
Play standard to continue enjoying your minmaxed character and your nest egg of currency long after your items have gone legacy.
There will never be a point where your character is "done". There will always be new toys, new crafts, new mirror items that supersede older ones, etc. Yes, they will command a higher price "because Standard" but with a well built character, you should be able to farm currency more efficiently and do more profitable endgame juicing to meet the higher costs.

Mostly I only play standard anymore due to time constraints with work, family, etc. that do not afford me the luxury to re-start from scratch every few months or as in the past few leagues, I tried the mechanic and found I really didn't enjoy it, so I would play a league character to snag an item or two for my characters in Standard that I do play.

This league I am actually having fun despite the league mechanic and am aiming for 1-2 bigger pieces of gear for my long term standard characters as they are WAY cheaper in league than in standard. The one helmet I bought was 10 divines in league vs 95 in standard.

Do you never play (and enjoy) other than melee? I know you wrote that but just to make sure :D Sounds like me never playing with zombies in PoE. You really must hate other things than melee - because I know what I think about zombies!

In RPGS I always play melee if I can. I don't hate other things; they just hold no water for me in the desert of boredom that is modern day gaming.
I try to understand it and I do it by my own references. I assumed (was wrong of me) you had the same reason no doing anything. I like that approach but fantasy as a "fact" has been existing quite long, way before gaming. So I think I miss something about what you meant by "modern day gaming". I also (I think at least) prefer some classes or so. Try avoid "non realistic" and also "ugly" classes or so. (Like being a Lizard/Ghoul or Warrior/Druid for one/two example each.)

But I try to test a lot of the other, at least in a game like this. In D4 I wouldn't try much. Played as a rogue and tried a sorcerer but couldn't more than 30 minutes and the rest was a no no.
Dayum. I really hope Hinekoras Lock will go core and/or stabelize in price so i can double corrupt some stuff.
will be super costly anyways, but at >200div a pop i cannot can.
i've been enjoying std this league cause i didn't like the mechanics so i rather play with my mageblood build or try out new builds with all the shit i have collected over the years xd
3.26 when?
Don't abandon us. don't turn your backs on the ones loving poe.
One more thing I'll give props to the std league is how cheap headhunters are wahahaha

I've mainly played Standard for my entire career in POE. I have played temp leagues if there is something in that specific league that I could really use on my Dex Stacking build in standard. In Sentinel I played just to get a Dex stacking boot base. In Krangled league I played specifically to get a +Dex Fractal Thoughts. I work full time and have younger kids so I rarely make it to T16 in a league. For instance in Harvest league I sold seeds from Quarry to people that were juicing Delerium farming. I made over a mirror selling seeds that entire league and did not even make it to maps. I saved the mirror for standard to mirror a Dex stacking bow. The excess currency from Harvest I used to create gear for Dex stacking in standard. I would have loved to get a Crucible tree Bow from Crucible but I was unable to get far enough into maps to get that.

I also got my first ever Mirror drop in standard shortly after Harvest league.

So depending on what the Temp league has for items or mods I sometimes leave Standard but I don't enjoy restarting. The whole point an ARPG for me is continue to upgrade and play decked out characters. Though at this point there's not a whole lot for me to upgrade. I don't have BIS in every slot but I also don't have a mirror for every slot. I'm happy with where my character is and enjoy playing it.

Standard enjoyers?
+1 :)
