I would limit total listings (10 or 20 at most), which then allow you to add more as they sell. And you would have to be online to add new listings so that does have a little bit of an opportunity cost too.

Max trades per day probably wouldn't fly with the community. I wouldn't recommend that.

I don't really see total listings as a limitation, only another micromanagement step; prolonging the attention you have to give to trading. Just more of the inconvenience we're used to.

And while I agree with you that max trades per day wouldn't fly with the community, that is a real limitation that would actually limit things. Well, if it hadn't been for alt accounts...

But hey, as I've written before: Move every inch of trading inside the game and make a (small) pop-up on your screen saying "accept/decline/hold on" when someone whispers you for an item. Would that 'in practice' be an AH? Maybe - in someone's definition. But the most important thing to me, is the requirement of being online to buy AND sell. As long as they keep that requirement, do whatever....

The argument was that with an automated trading system (online or offline) the AH will result in the economy being flooded with mirror-tier items that can be bought almost free (for a few chaos?) and will crash the economy.

lmao, that's not even slightly close to what I said - for reference

Those things people farm & sell in bulk to fund a build will be worth the square root of fuck all when absolutely everyone is trying to sell them because it doesn't take any time or effort to do it.

I'm talking about essences, ichors, expedition currency, map fragments etc. Couldn't really care less if actual gear trade is automated.

But hey, if everyone asking for an AH is doing so with limitations in mind, the discussion is very different. Max 5 trades per day, I would be ALL in.

The list goes on forever on ideas to make it viable, I very much agree with limiting the amount of items/space in such a system though when i thought about it there would be an option to buy more tabs to counteract that limit however perhaps some of you would not be ok with that and in particular CAN see some p2w complaints coming if they did that.

Regardless here was my stab in the dark at an ah

Innocence forgives you
pll arguments for AH is always so dam funny :D most boils dawn ho can kill game faster with they AH idea :D.
dam look at TL;I ah you can sell items for any item you want .like it have AH you want poe implement and it sucks ball hard. you cant sell shit unless its top tier item or item have stupidly rare mod. forget about selling anything els since marked is flooded with them. ohh and it have limitations like item limit that can be listed and it dam sucks.

So ppl think before you come with this AH ideas. since this ideas sucks haaaard.
I remember very clearly back in the early days of PoE Chris emphatically stating the the game would NEVER have an auction house.

"Oh," you say, "that was years ago. I'm sure he'll change his mind."

I wouldn't count on it. ='[.]'=

Oh I dont doubt he wont change his mind, even if it might be good for the game. His stubborness is legendary for good or bad.

I'm sure he never envisioned PoE having loot boxes, a battle pass, a trade website, and 3rd party tools to the proliferation that we have now.

The failure to seemingly acknowledge PoE is in a far different state than when it came out closed beta, and adjust their scope accordingly, is one of their biggest issues imo. It's just seems so out of touch sometimes.

Plus I think CW said they have ONE GUY that works on trade...lol there isn't anything significant happening anytime soon.

He said one person maintains the trade section of the website which sounds about right. Don't need to do much aside from integrating new items & the league mechanic.

[Removed by Support]

Nobody is working on anything related to trade other than the bare minimum to keep the trade site functional (and even then that doesn't often go smoothly, especially this league)

I personally think they can do better, considering how "sacrosanct" CW considers trade.

Thank god for that. Even though I don't like every decision they make I'm really glad on how stubborn they are with some decisions.
Just for context, that one guy had all of the crucible nodes searchable on trade very quickly.
