It's an amazing game for sure I'm a casual dad that can play about 10 sec a day it's very ez to get into in that how non existent build variety is I can turn off my brain and just select one out of 2 builds that the devs intended for us to play and the itemization is very simple and cool u just look at green arrow and you know it's an upgrade still at act 2 doing incredibly fun fetch quests but so far it's a 10 out of ten
yeah, D4 is pretty bland and boring.

Im holding out for something drastic in seasonal play. Not hopeful...

Drastic isn't safe. There are plenty of people that are happy with the release and I'm sure they would happily pay for more of the same. Drastic is called for when the ship is sinking or you're not the frontrunner in terms of players/revenue. D4 is neither of those two things.

Appealing to the masses brings a lot of revenue. What it doesn't bring is innovative, risky and daring development decisions. I wouldn't hold your breath on something drastic coming.
Thanks for all the fish!

Well they did promise some meaty seasonal content, and presumably they have a pretty clear development path for the next couple of years.

I do feel like there are intentional items left out of launch to drip feed as content gets upgraded. This ranges from QoL to obvious power creep (tiers of affixes and gems for example). Drip feeding isn't exactly a positive, but its understandable considering this version of live service they haven't attempted before. (And allows them to address problems in a more focused manner)

Also dont discount how major the new classes, set items, runewords, and build enabling uniques will be. Those likely will be quite significant. Idk I'm having a great time so far, and looking forward to what live service has in store.

Overall I tend to agree with Steelmage's points here (if you follow him), where he gave D4 an 8/10, and has played many hundreds of hours already. The lower demand & stress of D4 compared to PoE just allows for a different vibe when you are gaming, and that definitely has its appeal.

It's not for everyone, but there is a massive market for it.

D4 being a trash pile doesn't make POE any better sadly, it just pours salt into the old wound which is the fact that there is way too little competition in the ARPG market.

This is the correct take.

I realized how lucky i am playing PoE and how lucky i am that in charge of the PoE is chris wilson somone who deeply cares about the game and is passionate about it after i played diablo 4 with no endgame content at all you basically do the same contant at level 1 than you do at level 100 its just scaled to your level everything is scaled so u dont feel like you are getting stronger at all the world bosses who spawn every several hours dies in 20 seconds on world tier 4 and drops 2 rare items 1 legendary the loot feels extremely bad l

Well PoE has it's own issues in some ways but you can tell that the Devs have some decent knowledge about the arpg hack&slay genre in general and they do try to offer a decent to good arpg while taking care of their financial part.

D4 on the other hand looks like a mix-up of different Devs with none of them having a clue about arpg hack&slay games. D3 felt at least like a arpg hack&slay, but you can pretty much tell that D4 took some inspiration from Lost Ark and the Devs tried to recreate it in a diablo universe. Worst part the company is only focused on milking money rather than selling a good product. Them selling a infinite product for a high price makes that quite obvious, not to mention all the paid cosmetics and battle passes in a buy2play game.

Activision Blizzard promised us so many different things across all of their games. Most of it never happened and got straight up abandoned, and some of it turned out different as promised. So I personally would take "their promise" with a grain of salt.
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

I like how some D4 apologists say the game doesn't have much to do because it's new, like it's some alpha LOL.

Btw, the company that used to be Blizzard is running a sale and I finally got D2R. Now, that's a good game.
