Tried PoE after D4's first beta weekend

This just in: Player spends a tiny amount of time in the beta of a new game, which has most of it's functions disabled / unreachable, then compares it to a full fledged game with access to everything and over a decade of content. More news at 11.
I will preface by saying that my favorite games of all-time have been Diablo 2, WoW, and PoE.. and with that out of the way:

1) Good for you.

2) This game has gotten extremely stale. I have played it since the beta (and had to make a new account since moving overseas/closing old steam account.. long story). D4 is a breath of fresh air.

3) Competition is good. Right now I am so burnt out from PoE that I have started playing different games/genres. I always need something to chase after, and PoE has had that excitement dwindle out, constant nerfs, and catering to the hardcore whales has made this game not difficult, but tedious.

4) Game has gotten better in terms of performance/things to do, but is a worse game to play, it is not the spiritual successor of Diablo 2 anymore, it has become like Torchlight Mobile, just go fast and that is it. D4's pace is better than the zoom zoom crowd this game has been catering to.

Overall, this game is worse than the beta of D4, and there is no more hype around it because they're too busy milking the whales with MTX and minor league updates. This game adds very minor stuff every couple of months and then whales buy MTX and that is it. 20USD per month you're paying to play this game (if you buy a supporter pack every league) in order to get much less than an MMO.

While I disagree with you on most points, this I absolutely agree with. It seems like the game punished you for going slow. That isnt right.

They wanted to slow down the game during 3.15. And they couldn't. The reasons?

1/ It's how the drops work. You don't get better loots for being slow. Majority of players are in trade softcore and they love zoom-zoom. Why? Faster means more currency. Faster speedrun means more mirror items.

2/ There is also zero new content that specifically rewards you for deliberately being slow. To slower the game they'd have to undo a decade worth of contents and mechanics. And well, that's the reason ruthless mode happened. It's another attempt at slowing down the game.

Diablo4 combat pace is very good imo. And if you look at PoE2 trailer, it's about the same pace. Many zoomers will get upset if this happens.

I had fun during D4's first beta weekend... so much that I filled the time until this weekend with PoE.

Exactly my case...
Only to mention that last time I played PoE is exactly 10 years ago. So, Im experimenting a bit in standart atm, until new league begin. This will help to wait til 6.6.23.
Honestly D4 and POE are completely different and I love POE and have played every Diablo Series. I did not play the Beta for D4 but from what i have seen it is inline with my expectations. There are reasons i favor POE over Diablo and Vice Versa. I will play both and likely continue to play both. Crucible league will hold me down until 6/6/2023. To each his own...
Holla at me on twitch, youtube, tiktok, X, and Rumble @beats4president
