Path of Exile 2.0 Should Have an Auction House
" making "trade less convenient" doesn't solve it, yes. the game needs item sinks for the items (currency/gear) it drops if they're not used to improve the player's characters directly. the more stuff drops, the more items sinks are needed and this balance is off since quite some time now. ruthless tries to tackle it at it's core: item drops. but the real balance is likely somewhere in the middle between ruthless and poopsock leagues (where it rains items). age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

We need an item for the hideout that is like a trading post, you can price your items and put them in there, somebody who wants to buy can only get it out for the marked price, so you don't need to be there to do the trade manually. Log in and collect. It would only be connected to you in your hideout, not a global auction house of any kind.

I do not like auction house.
But I would love to see a system similar to a player item store/stand, where it is possible for someone to just buy your item while you are offline and not be required to do the boring hideout/trade screen process. |

The closest feature we may get to an auction house that is line with the weird take trade manifesto is an ingame user interface that has the same functions as the current PoE trade website.
This would be a slight QoL but still have the the annoyances the devs are proud of and want to keep like waiting for players to reply, teleport into their hideout, etc. Masterpiece of 3.16 lore "A mysterious figure appears out of nowhere, trying to escape from something you can't see. She hands you a rusty-looking device called the Blood Crucible and urges you to implant it into your body." Only usable with Ethanol Flasks Last edited by gandhar0#5532 on Jan 19, 2023, 8:44:26 AM

The real reason of why GGG doesn't introduce auction house is that, we need to admire the whole mtxs they sold to us. It's easy to deduct. You need show some how your hideout and your outfit. I understand that Poe is free game and they need to do it, to earn money from the mtxs. The solution would be quiet simple. As someone earlier said, GGG can introduce some trade place in your hideout. Other players can visit your hideout, even while you are offline, and buy whatever they want. They would have access to the all items for sell. Isn't it fit to the middleage marketplace atmosphere? In meantime they can observe your hideout and your avatar. GGG?

Just like to point out: PoE 2 CANNOT be called PoE 2.0 because PoE 2.0 already exists: it is the PoE Awakening Expansion. Devs are calling it PoE 2 because it is likely the most massive overhaul they have ever done, even potentially bigger than when they went from 3 acts in 3 difficulties to 10 acts.
It can either be called PoE 2, or PoE 4.0...but it cannot be called PoE 2.0. I still have NO IDEA how they are going to roll it out: is PoE as we know it just going to cease to exist overnight? Will they run PoE 1 and the new PoE 2 in tandem and you can choose to play either version? Will items be deleted or otherwise randomly changed to match the new systems and power levels of the new game? Or will PoE 2 be an entirely separate, NEW game whose only connection to the original is the story and the fact that you can play the first 10 acts again, albeit with an entirely new game system. We sort of know that it is being billed more as an expansion than as a new game, as they have stated you can play the original 10 acts. But I just can't see how they can take all the bloat and issues associated with PoE 1 and just make it "work" in PoE 2 without pissing off a HUGE amount of players in some way or another. In my opinion, it is going to have to be an entirely clean start or it will ultimately blow up in their faces. And they need to start readying their playerbase NOW if that is the direction they intend to take. Last edited by jsuslak313#7615 on Jan 19, 2023, 12:47:33 PM

" Yeah still people are confused what patch 4.0 aka POE 2 really is. It's patch 3.0 but on roids. A massive expansion no more , no less. Imo POE 2 was a bad name choice. Masterpiece of 3.16 lore

" For 2 seasons now console has both the trade website and the trade market so you can use the best of 2 worlds. The ease of website search and the ease of buying on the market board. And absolutely nothing changed. If market had insta buyout to screw over price fixers it would be a actually OK trading experience and even OK for GGG as you still have to go a roudabout way to bypass p2p trade. |

"They've been pretty clear about this. The original story is staying, but it will have the new mechanics, which are changed on such a fundamental level (mainly in how sockets work) that most old items/mechanics would have no meaning. The original mechanics of PoE are going permanently into the trash because they aren't interested in freezing a definitive version of them and continuing to run it or letting anyone else do so. Furthermore, the Trade Manifesto delenda est.

" i mean...thanks for pointing out exactly what I already said. They've been clear about WHAT PoE 2 is going to be, but they HAVEN'T been clear about how they are going to get there. They did NOT explicitly state that PoE 1 is going to disappear completely, nor have they said anything about what happens to existing items / standard stashes / existing characters. It is only PLAYERS who have speculated, just as I am speculating on the possible options GGG has when they are finally ready to roll out PoE 2. It is NOT clear because there is literally no information or definitive decisions from GGG, apart from the features of PoE 2. Last edited by jsuslak313#7615 on Jan 22, 2023, 5:09:48 PM
