Resolve is the alternative to just being rippy but the second boss after candle head irl insta killed me from off screen anyway.

absolutely agree. We want hack and slash, not "stealth", not "rogue-like" and not other bs. I just have been dancing 5 minutes around laser skull in the middle of Sanctum room - it is nonsense...

" To this day I will defend that Heist was a salvageable mechanic. So much great work went into that league and it's sad to see it just turn into crappy mapping. They could have done so many things to fix issues with the "stealth" mechanic. Having patrols only aggro to proximity of the player and not minions or skills. Using a similar gauge the Elder Scrolls / Dishonored detection system where it goes down after everything that detected you is gone instead of a 0-100 meter. They could have even used shadows with vision cones allowing you to just zip past patrols. In a sense separate it as a global meter used when you screw up like detection totems or allowing a patrol to call for another and a noise level meter that goes back down. Resolve should be removed, and just make the resolve-related boons affect your player stats. They can be balanced accordingly.
Resolve bricks too many builds. Freeze being the only effective solution isn't fair for 95% of other builds. | |

I mentioned this to the same friend who picked melee. Rogue-likes these days also aren't very long. Like 20min floor clears. When Chris said 32 maps I was like... That's not the same picture.

So i have to dance around 2 mobs with mines and 2 skull rays constantly hitting me as a melee build? What is wrong with you, developers and whoever dumb tested this crap?

" To add on to this, the amount of tracking we have going on here is a tad ridiculous. Not even half way through leveling and I have giant skull towers that rotate pretty fast even when firing, and also bow bosses that track until the final half second before their shot. Combine the two and you have almost no opportunity to attack if you self-cast, it's ridiculous. Yes, you can take them out without receiving much damage, but ultimately every single hit is damage for the entire run. It's awful. You only have so much resolve; there are very few ways to restore it and even ways to prevent you from restoring it. Every single damage point to your resolve is a big deal in my opinion. Earlier, I chose a "Benevolent Fountain" that actually completely hurt me. It was the worst feeling ever, what an absolute waste of my time. It was supposed to be a bonus, but the "minor" negative that came with was unknown. The positive effect gave me +50% resolve when entering the boss room. The negative effect gave me no restoration of resolve until after the boss room. So I was punished entirely. I received no positive bonus, and in fact made my situation even worse. |
