Exactly, people run their mouths all the time because they are angry. We all know he was just venting because his favorite part of the game was just ruined, he was being called out as ignorant for his first crafting video, and he was also the target of a pretty bad reddit campaign for his EoW miner build.

If you look at the things that was said about PoM the last few weeks and being targeted by the hate mob on Reddit, I think he should be cut a little bit of slack. I don't care how confident you are if you got thousands and thousands of people, and the whole YouTube community is making video's calling you a baiter for a build that works exactly as it was designed, I think most people might act a bit irrationally.

Forgiveness is preceded by contrition, of which PoM has shown none. His first instinct was to say "no, I didn't say anything offensive to GGG staff", then when proved otherwise, to delete the evidence and say "I'm going on a break like empy".

Only then, after proving he didn't think he had done anything wrong, did he say he would "reflect on his words" once he'd realised the cost he had incurred on himself.

Oh come on, the guy says thousands of things a day, he's a streamer, and he's been under a lot of pressure by the same community that got him banned. There has been an active campaign to get him canceled for the last few weeks for his EoW video, and they were calling him out on his crafting video. Everything he's been saying he's been being attacked over.

I bet the same people who got him banned were the same people who asked him the questions in Twitch and got him riled up. I don't like what he said, but none of it threatened violence, it was just name calling. They act like this was done on the GGG forums, and like I said I would bet the people who asked him the questions setting him off were the same people that posted this stuff to get him banned. Their hate for PoM is far worse than PoM insulting someone, you know he doesn't hate Chris, he was just angry and running his mouth.

You are welcome to try again, and present any example where a teacher was fired for comments outside of their workplace, which did not threaten someone's life or encourage others to commit a felony like murder, and I will retract what I said. But, this time I would encourage you to read what you post.

Honestly I just grabbed the top links and I'm doing it again, I can scroll for pages on google and find different stuff. I am even skipping the ones fired for discussing [Removed by Support] stuff in class since that is technically occurring on school grounds, where they might need to discuss in the course of learning.

I like Path of Matth.

He's a great player, vey knowledgeable about the game - and was one of the few such players that actually put in A LOT of effort to creating guides to help regular players.

This compares to "elite" players who just sit on Twitch, low-effort, and can barely be bothered to put in any work to creating guides and explanation videos to help people understand more about the game.

By democratizing his knowledge, Matth was helping to bring down the barrier between the elite PoE gamers and the casual gamers.

He obviously loves this game a lot. And I completely understand his frustration and why he was angry that the game is just a complete mess right now.

I don't blame him. I've been there before myself. Until I learned to detach myself from this game.

What he said was not appropriate. Was a ban warranted? I don't think so - maybe a suspension. Or a ban for this league. But a permanent ban? Really?

I've seen PoE streamers calling other streamers these same slurs and some even worse - but they don't get banned. So if GGG wants to take the high road on this - they should start banning other streamers associated with their game for using these slurs.

If they don't, then it means GGG is ok with people & streamers using these slurs - but just not against GGG. Which doesn't make sense.
What do I think.........RIP [Removed by Support]

i dont care at all.

they have the right to ban whoever they want and POM learned a lesson ( or not)
As someone who's been banned for toxicity before:

talk shit, get hit.

You're in their playground, you play by their rules. /shrug

However, the main issue I wanted to point out, I am worried about supporting GGG in the future, as we could lose all of the money we spent on the game in a flash because of an opinion we shared outside of this game we play. What if someone screenshots something I said about GGG or one of their employees on the TFT Discord? Will I be banned and lose all my Supporter packs and MTXs also?

Are you worried that you will, in the future, use hate speech directed at a GGG employee?
If not, then you have nothing to worry about.

I'm sorry, what is hate speech? Speech may be hateful in nature but on principle, it's speech, free of dictate and censorship, adhering to any and all consequences stipulated by law.

It didn't incite violence, and we are all entitled to having opinions, uttering them publicly.

I don't know if POM was contractually signed by GGG, when making those statements, nor do I know if they alone, were cause of his ban if at all.

It could've been considered defamatory and as such, if POM was obligated by terms of contract, as an official representative of GGG, he'd be held to a higher standard and GGG would have probable cause to act upon it.

If not, POM is just an individual who aired his grievances online, outside the realm of GGG platform.

But we don't know and thus it's solely between GGG and him and we can't expect GGG to comment on individual cases.

Alot of misguided thinking:

a) he makes good guides = irrelevant
b) he is too passionate = irrelevant (GGG should not have to suffer abuse for someone's passion)
c) he is a streamer - irrelvant

That being said, GGG, with all due respect, a perma ID ban seems excessive.

In the same way it is unfair to show streamers any favoritism, it is also unfair to 'make examples' of them and be stricter with punishment.

It should be a fair treatment for all player!

Therefore, (imho) he should be banned for 3 leagues.

He said he was already done with 3.19 so start counting from 3.20.

bald comment = 1 league ban
retarded comment = 1 league ban
insulting mtg cards (lol leave the poor cards out of this!) = 1 league ban.

So by 3.23 he can make new account and rejoin as a reformed player.

Peace and blessing to all!

Not a whale but I think it a mistake just from a business prospective. He had a decent following no matter what you think of him, some like his edgelord style and that brings GGG more cash/attention. I would not have banned him. But apparently it's only his account banned and will be allowed back next season under a new account so I guess they didnt really ban him. More like a costly time out.

But I'm pretty chill. In construction industry I work with rough ppl. Actually been threaten to be killed by an employee once. We got over it. He was a good employee and just got too much sun that day.

Really??? That's extreme. If POM had dome something that extreme and threatened any GGG staff with physical violence I wouldn't be so worried about my own cosmetics and purchases, but all he did was call Chris bald and a rtard for his game decisions with 3.19. And not saying Chris deserved it, but let's be honest, Chris has back peddled on those decisions, so even he knows they are terrible decisions.
