POE Whales - What are your thoughts on PoM ban and losing thousands $$?
" Thats basically the sentiment on Reddit. |

Have spent thousands on this game. If GGG bans me - it is for a reason that objectively speaking is a valid one.
Also we spent the $$ in this game and have consumed said product. There is no loss of $$ per se as there is no resale value to the products. POM screwed up - He got banned and rightly so. GGG screwed up on 3.19 - They got skewered and rightly so. One shows contrition and the other arrogance and hubris. Be smart people - don't do stupid stuff. |

" But that's not true, is it? It wasn't just a few comments in Twitch chat. He was verbally abusing Chris Wilson, while streaming Path of Exile on his channel. If you're going to make money off a game by streaming it on Twitch, then don't abuse the CEO of the company that makes that game. Don't bite the hand that feeds you, unless you want to get banned. |

The guy was a repeated offender and this was his 3rd ban.
Should they just not do anything to him bcs "oh he has spent thousands of dollars. give him immunity" |

The way I see it:
I don't care much for streamers but I can admit an injustice when I see one. The streamer broke no rules on the forum or in game. Fair enough he said something not particularly nice about a member of staff but again he didn't do it on their platform so it is none of their business what he says there. If they were to refuse to work with him or refuse to pay him for advertising any longer then that would be an acceptable response (effectively dropping him as a partner). This sets as a bad precedence as what's next? GGG can ban you for anything you say which they don't like on twitter/facebook etc. How far does it go? Are GGG going to become the internet police and start banning people who have made racist/homophobic/etc tweets next? Because I highly doubt that... The thing about it all which bothers me most is that when GGG makes a lapse in judgement and makes a mistake they expect unconditional forgiveness. Yet when this guy made a lapse in judgement and a mistake due to frustration of GGG's continuous mistakes and says something unpleasant OFF their platform, instead of choosing to ignore it... they ban his account and then choose the non-forgiveness route. As a company that has made repeat lapses in judgement surely GGG can see the irony in this? If not then it's just another one on the list... My life is slipping away...
Addiction is a harsh drug... |

The actual whales are already getting their plane tickets and hotel stuff for next year quitcon I mean exilecon and they were the first ones to buy the most expensive tickets to have a dinner with the dev's.. they don't care about streamers.
Those people are the worst on any videogame out there because they will support any dumb decision out there and still be willing to pay for it as "appreciation" because when you have so much money that you don't know how to spend it.. Right, mods? "Parade your victories, hide your defeats. Mortals are so insecure." Once you break the cycle of fear no angels or demons can whisper you their sweet nothing words. poe0.2/10. Nuff said. " That's rubbish, if your talking trash and drinking a Coke does that mean Coke should take action against you? What GGG should have done is take away his streamer status and cut him off (aka blacklisted him) from any company communication. At one time this is what Blizzard basically did to Asmongold. Though it is possible that streamer status comes with an agreement. If that's the case which it may very well be, then a permaban could easily be justified. Other than that he has a right to be able to make money off something in the public space. If PoM wants to troll GGG he could make videos and just show some else footage. I guess he could still continue to make PoE videos, he doesn't have to show in game footage per say. I just think more can and should be done to try to correct PoM's behavior before a perma ban. I Think it would be totally justifiable if they made him take anger management on his own dime to get his streamer status back and well deserved. " he didn't have any sponsorship deal with ggg maybe a gentleman's agreement but nothing legal since it hasn't been disclosed and if it has then correct me but i haven't seen anyone show proof that he was sponsored |

" Doesnt matter one bit if he had a deal or not. The momment you are associeted with the game itself you should act accordingly, he didnt. He was toxic, he got what he deserved and GGG had the right to do it. There is literally 0 laws saying they cant, not in a single country in the world. Thats also not his first ban for such behavior. You are defending a toxic dude with anger menagment issues. Let that sink in. |
