You're not wrong. My PC sounds like it's going to take off sometimes (it is old and weak tho). It's not always super busy action on screen either. Certain portal effects will do it just standing in a hideout.
We tested it extensively

If your system is loud /hot playing PoE, then use a fps cap. On that note, I cap mine at 75 with a 3080 otherwise ya...my PC runs in circles pumping out heat and noise.
BRO IT IS 160 HZ it need to run 160 fps min~!!!
Not sure if you're joking. If not lemme say nooooo. Wrong.

you got 3080 and you cap fps to 75...? HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUH? why dont you cap to your monitor refresh rate instead? capping fps to 75 with 3080 is like the dumbest thing i have seen i cap my fps to 144 always becuz i got 144mhz monitor theres no reason for me to cap to 60 or 72 fps that makes no sense

Yeah and with 1440mhz monitor you cap the game to 1440fps.
It is easy to follow logic that always works flawlessly.
Frame drops, system stability, electricity, heat generation be damned.
This is first person twitch shooter and we simply need 1440fps to stay competitive.

Why should I cap it to my refresh rate? It's Gsync. There is no reason other than a totally arbitrary preference to do that. And I already said why I do it. I get a few hundred fps in this game if I don't. It's loud. preferring THAT " makes no sense".

YOU cap it to 144. YOU can go ahead and do that. Nothing stopping YOU. Don't act like it's a thing EVERYONE does though. This game does not need 144fps. And again...my monitor is Gsync. Your "easy to follow logic" is totally arbitrary. This is NOT a "first person twitch shooter", it's NOT competitive. What are you even on about? And with VRR, it feels smooth like butter. I prefer a silent PC over a jet airplane taking off w/ extra frames I won't notice. My monitor is 240hz. If I let PoE run at w/e frame rate my PC would be loud AAF.
PS I can only assume you meant 144hz. No such thing as 1440mhz monitor. You guys sound very new to all this yet you talk like you're arguing facts, evidently very new if you think PoE is a competitive fps. I don't even...

theres no 1440mhz monitors but if there was then yes you would cap your fps to your monitor refresh rate so your max fps cant go above that becuz it would be waste of resources and lifespan for your gpu i mean are you new to the gaming or something?

I won more fps tournaments than you've even seen.
There are 3 rules to follow if you want to be best
1. Low dpi setting for the mouse, at most 80dpi for perfectly accurate headshots
2. Play at lowest resolution possible to get the best performance and the 360 spin headshot takes less time to perform
3. Cap fps at 1, this way your enemy stays on the screen longer so you can kill him even when he is abusing peeking A_D_A_D spam tactics or ctrl/jump spam
Maybe do some reasearch before spreading misinformation you casual. Also use CRT over LCD for that extra competitive edge.

Quite simply, you cap your fps to w/e frame rate you can reliably hit. There's no point in capping your frame rate to 200 if you only hit 120. Otherwise, you cap your frame rate to ensure you stay inside your VRR window.
PoE doesn't need no 120, 144, or my monitors cap...240fps. It just doesn't. But if you guys like mad swings in frame rate and the sound of a jet engine, by all means, go buy a 3080 fire up PoE, and don't use a fps cap. You'll see lol

do you even know what is input lag? if you got 3080 you can easy get 100-144 stable fps in PoE the input lag difference is massive between 75 and 144fps playing on 75 fps is not smooth experience at all and thats literally a fact and i have no idea how is your 3080 loud like rocket engine when playing poe i got 144fps capped and my gpu only gets 70c with 50% fan speed

NAW MAN WUT IS TEH INPUTS LAG?
Knock it off. Seriously lmao. Have you even experienced variable refresh rate? ever heard of Nvidia's ultra low latency mode?
input lag? I don't have any.
