I won more fps tournaments than you've even seen.
There are 3 rules to follow if you want to be best
1. Low dpi setting for the mouse, at most 80dpi for perfectly accurate headshots
2. Play at lowest resolution possible to get the best performance and the 360 spin headshot takes less time to perform
3. Cap fps at 1, this way your enemy stays on the screen longer so you can kill him even when he is abusing peeking A_D_A_D spam tactics or ctrl/jump spam

Maybe do some reasearch before spreading misinformation you casual. Also use CRT over LCD for that extra competitive edge.

why are you trying to brag about winning some random tournaments...(wich you never did) what does that has to do with anything here? im just gonna assume you are trolling at this point theres just no way you arent being sarcastic here

do you even know what is input lag? if you got 3080 you can easy get 100-144 stable fps in PoE the input lag difference is massive between 75 and 144fps playing on 745 fps is not smooth experience at all and thats literally a fact

NAW MAN WUT IS TEH INPUTS LAG?

Knock it off. Seriously lmao. Have you even experienced variable refresh rate? ever head of Nvidia's ultra low latency mode?
input lag? I don't have any.

knock off what helping to enlighten you?
"enlighten me"? the hell are you talking about
Again I ask; you ever experienced variable refresh rate? I don't need 144fps in this game. It does nothing.

Wait, maybe I should let it run at 144. After all, it's a competitive first person shooter.

and again it makes your gameplay experience smoother idk why people think its no big difference between 60 or 144fps in non shooter games you literally have more smoother gameplay and shorter input lag you arent getting 1ms on 60fps not even with your "super duper ultra low ms nvidia tech"

My experience IS smooth. That's what you don't get. My monitor is 240hz. I tried letting it run at whatever. It's loud.
Try using a modern PC instead of a 1060 or w/e the heck you're using, you'd get it.

Admittedly I settled on 75. Maybe 100 would be better! I'll try it out, whatever, but smoothness is not a factor. But I don't particularly care! It's already smooth. That's the part you don't get.

Frame times, and using vertical sync have to do with it to. My experience with 75fps gsync with low frame times is better than someone elses with 144fps, terrible frame times and Vsync.

no man you dont get my part...i am saying 144fps will give you smoother experience than your 75 fps i am using freesync myself but you are not getting 1 ms inputlag on 75 fps and with your nvidia ms input lag tech

You are literally the only one in this conversation who doesn't get it.
I feel NO difference at higher fps in this game. If I did, then I'd cap my fps higher.
Stop telling me what is smooth and what is not smooth, I've been building gaming PC's likely as long as you've bene alive.

But you know what? Like I said previously, I'll tinker more. I simply settled on 75fps to avoid noise and heat. I'll try out a 100fps cap. One thing is for sure, my PC is a jet engine with no cap what so ever.
But I don't need you telling me what is smooth and what isn't.

"why dont you cap to your monitor refresh rate instead?" look at the title of this thread. As I already said, 240hz is my monitors refresh. If I let PoE run that fast my PC would be loud and hot. Kinda like "POE More stress GPU Than FurMark poe burns GPU same as Cryptocurrency Mining"!!
The whole reason I jumped in was to explain this logic.
If you don't like your PC being loud and hot, then cap your frame rate. PoE is very easy to run and will do this if you let it.
I'm done.

thank god.

On a side note, my in game cap is 90fps. my bad. Still, I stand by my posts, I don't need more than this. It's pointless.

ALL ULTRA SETINGS AND 160 FPS
if someone has the pc for it this is how the games should work
since all other big AAA games with very good graphics work in this setings POE should work to
