POE More stress GPU Than FurMark poe burns GPU same as Cryptocurrency Mining

While I am ok with it, PoE is one of the worst games when it comes to this. It seems the devs dont care much about an optimized PoE.
Well, at least most of the server issues got fixed over the years…
" It is one of main reasons why coop is so bad in this game, all party members need quantum supercomputer for the fps to not drop to 0 And they do very much care, it is just hard to fix. Who would not want players to not run in to large hardware limitations? Just like they care about crashing, no one wants to play game that keeps crashing and they try to fix it and some of it is indeed fixed and more is fixed every patch. They also experimented with vulkan. It is just extremely hard, even AAA games run like total shit. |

Use undervolting for GPU.

" HEHEH FOR POE you need to undervolt it to gtx 970 power then you get 20 fps with no overheat Last edited by real_name_hidden69#7257 on Aug 17, 2022, 4:09:49 PM

This game was made by guys in their garage lol. The foundation maybe have been cemented up to try and fix it, but the cost of it's inception is showing lol. Even though GGG has more money than ever and is able to hold cons for its fans, they would have to remake poe in order to fix the optimization issues in their spaghet code.

" Remind me which AAA game in last years did not have optimization issues. To me It does not look like money is anyhow related to how well it runs in the end. Even the holy grail of people here called "Elden Ring" Had and has its fair share of issues with it. Game praised for being perfect masterpiece from nearly everyone mentioning it. Cyberpunk? haha! Fallout76? hahaha! Latest battlefield? hua hua hua! Maybe i did not play some AAA game that is exception to this. But the rule seems to be that things not working well IS the industry standard today even for rich companies. I do not know if remake of the engine from scratch guarantees in any way noticable improvements that they can not already implement. |

Are you letting the game run past 60FPS? PoE has an FPS limiter (which it didn't for the longest time for some reason) and that keeps my GPU from turning into a nuclear reactor

" Well, D3 I guess you could call a AAA game. And that game (same genre) runs on max settings, high FPS, totally smooth. I would say that game engine is very good optimzed. No cooling issues at all for your system. So its always sad to see, that PoE is compared to D3 so poorly optimized. But then we have to hope that "maybe" in the future the devs will still figure it out to optimize PoE way better then it is today.
" RTX 3090Ti so it run all max on 144 HZ 4k monitor all setings max like all other games but in poe temperatures reach 15 c more like in crypto mining operations Last edited by real_name_hidden69#7257 on Aug 18, 2022, 12:58:35 AM

Maybe two (easy) tips for everybody who struggels hard with PoE just burning through your hardware:
- playing the game full screen or windowed fullscreen makes a difference - dont use the ingame FPS limit. Use an external tool, i.e. NVIDIA has it build in, there are videos on youtube if you need help to set it up, its just a few clicks, simple. That also helps with other games by the way. I always lock on 60 FPS and that helps a lot |
