Also Open Zones aren't revolutionary, like I said Ragnarok Online was open zoned, that was 20+ years ago. How do graphics make up, for the lack of that? They don't. Maybe we all played D2 to death during middle school & are done with aspects of that questing system. Or 40 MMORPG's later after D2, some people want better multiplayer expansions for their ARPG.

How does someone go from 40 mmorpg's after D2, to then Diablo 3? They don't.

Ye done with the pvp debates, I suppose this was a wazzup thread. To the reply'er; no LA didn't have good pvp rewards? or not when I played. Doubt they added much. I did make probably half the pvp'ers quit from the main pvp threads. Also I never mentioned I wanted POE to be like LA, who read that wrong. I said LA had a ton or limits & was nearly a mobile phone game, that they took the autopathing away from.

Why list Planetside 2? I don't know. Didn't say much, just the only game to play right now besides Warhammer Total War 3.

People that should have really just bought a console & never found pc games. PC games being mostly made for " ONLINE EVOLUTION ". Consoles being made for single players. Get it right. Go play Diablo 3 on a console like I have, if you believe the single player experience of ARPG's is going places, it's not. Single or co op player Diablo 3 was boring. & Yes it was boring due to those reasons.

RP. Ye final fantasy has a race of animal girls. The games that don't have those races, will have less of those people who like animal girls. Also the best rp'er I met briefly, wasn't a animal girl. It was a lvl 10 undead priest, that ran up to my lvl 10 tauren warrior. After my Tauren warrior ran solo from Tauren Starter zone to Undead Starting zone. He ran up to me talking to me like poetry. As if I was some foreign traveler entering his questing area. With a gentlemen flow of poetry, than he ran off to lvl. Tho the rp I'm asking for isn't WoW Poetry, nor final fantasy themes. Maybe lore experts saying hi.

RP part 2: It's simply the way Guild Wars 2 had people playing instruments, with buttons that had notes, around the Pvp queue waiting area. Tho besides a pvp area for instruments, POE has a dark tavern like the Witcher series would have. That's the rp set. For starters. Or else make hideouts outside for all to see, with every guild having a field they own or town hills with outside guild banners. Also like mentioned earlier, fields to show off builds, why chat only option for social interaction in game, or some tiny isolated garrison style hideout? Nope. How is that better than a ragnarok field south of prontera? It isn't. Is it better because POE is a arpg & ragnarok was a mmo? No it's not better for any reason of the word. Simply put, nobody liked Garrisons, nobody likes hideouts for general gamership. Everyone liked huge ragnarok fields for social unofficial events, nobody likes small poe towns for zoom stashers only. Ya'll need these forums, because POE has nowhere good to talk forum related stuff in game, chat isn't good enough apparently, some topics are things you'd show off in game & aren't able to due to nowhere good to do so.



Diablo 4 has these features. Tho their prob gonna ruin that game, like Diablo Immortal or like WoW or Diablo 3 or Warcraft 3 reforged. So not getting my hopes high. Still POE should aim for rivaling these features to to toe. I get why some single player emo dark outfit loners of POE would not be a fan of these features, tho I'm pretty sure half of ARPG fans are ready or wanting these features for a ARPG styled game. Lost Ark wasn't it. So then? Nothing? If D4 flops, nothing for advanced arpg features leading to a mmo like arpg? Nothing then.

The zoomer debate seems like a huge debate. Tho overall zoomer gameplay sucks. Sure make 1 class a zoomer style maybe, not even. Tho ye everything else should be strategy oriented, not race oriented. Tho ye I've heard the usual " people don't want to slow down so they see their time wasted doing the same old runs yet slower". Yet how the same runs slower, even strategy? It isn't. So the game just needs a strategy based overhaul & rid this grass mowing simulator skill list. Everything should require a combo & perhaps every class gets +1 skill to use as well, on their active list, so people aren't just spamming 1 dps skill & calling that a game. Every game should have 4 to 8 active skills. Heck I believed Lost Ark with 8 was some kiddy game for only having 8 active skills. If POE had a tiny skill tree like LA did, I probably wouldn't play POE, as POE doesn't use enough active skills either. Spamming 1 or 3 active skills will never be a strategy game & no wonder its a zoomer. IF anything tailoring POE away from zoomer 1 to 3 hit active skill limitation, would make POE less like a mobile game. If anything that's what mobile games have, 1 to 3 skills to hit your thumb on & that's it. No skill. That's also why I rival all these reply'ers for pvp, YOU NEED PVP to have a SKILL BASED SYSTEM. Or else you didn't fully grasp the kinks of your skill system or fairness of it. So ignore how tough scaling would be, figure out how to make every skill combo oriented or quit the gaming market.

Also in general racing has to do with vehicles. or Horse mounts. What does it have to do with fighting or questing? Maybe has to do with questing, if your quests are mundane & only boiled down to running from A to B. Then sure quests are stupid race tasks & not a thinking mans route.

All you pvp amatuers, you believe " War of Emporium " IRO players would have left Ragnarok Online, when WOE was introduced? Some pve'ers sound too soft. So over it, learn to pvp man. Go play a pvp game already. No wonder I mentioned Planetside 2 now, yall need some pvpjesus. Literally half of the rpg scene is pvp. Tho with leagues its a tad tough to get pvp interested around for poe, yet also easy if they used their imagination. Also people follow the rewards anyways. People aren't gonna miss POE WOE themed castle rewards. Open zone pvp, another thing done right 20+ years ago, from a mini char rpg game.

The story zone endgame, big towns, & so on isn't some huge project, all they had to do was not go with the portal hideout route & kept with the story route they had from A10. Now instead of hideouts theirs A11 Act 12 Act 13 Act 14 & Act 20 is endgame bosses, ta da, no stupid isolated garrison style portal hopping mess of a endgame. Just straight linear open zone mapped boss fields. They still have time to lean this route, for POE 2.

Also I don't want character identity, I want new hair colors & templates for avatars. I don't want to be some blonde butch ranger ever. So this idea that people like " known characters " is lame. Most people want starter char customization, for every game. Poe is no different. I favor a red hair scion & dark hair ranger or else I won't play these 2 classes. Simple as that. & I'd prefer a Templar who isn't bald. Most people don't like having similar char models. Stop relying on the 1990's for everything D2 style, it's getting old, oh wait already has.

I haven't noticed you state anything about it you like.
You want big towns, open worldzones, PVP and customisable characters, lots of active skills (combos?), and more open PVP. Then some social interactions in town, some "RP", more crafting to improve towns, more areas "good to talk forum related stuff in game", fields to show off builds, and lots of cosmetic tweaking on your characters. And more open world PVP.

Absolutely none of this is what PoE has ever been about. No one plays PoE for the above. Why not play, I dunno, Aion?

Otherwise, you're like someone coming to a basketball match and complaining that although it's good, it would be better in the open air, on turf. And we should play with a ball that isn't round so it's less predictable, and much bigger goals (and lose the nets). And maybe have more people on each side, and instead of avoiding contact they're allowed to run into each other and physically scrap for the ball.

I think keeping it more D2 like , without MMO and open world zones will emphasize the character development more since the player is the middle of the world, its all about him and his personal journey, without any outside distractions (other players stealing your kills, shit talk, forced grouping, etc).

Make this like DI or D4 and you're just one ordinary soldier of many in the Zerg army.

But other than that ,which is me nitpicking, i personally see benefits in this new evolution of hack&slash games if done right in the new environments.

WoW is dying. Asmongold no longer streams final fantasy much, half the reason for its success. New World failed. LA is p2w & nearly a phone game. Diablo Immortal is a p2w & 100% a phone game. Aion? No thanks. I'd rather play GW2 than Aion & I don't want to play GW2, nor Black Desert, nor some Kung Fu pathing mmorpg either. Final Fantasy doesn't have good pvp & doesn't have talent trees for pve. LA has lost most of its players. Lazy Peon is reviewing battle royal games. Asmongold doesn't have a main RP right now.

Maybe pvp is tough to implement for a game with leagues, tho not really they already wasted funds on a alternative league of legends style pvp mode. For no reason, not even bridged to your main chars. Tho besides pvp, as for regular pve stuff rpg's or mmo's have had for 20+ years now? Like bigger towns, open zones that bridge with towns for endgame, or anything related to bigger environments or more people per server. That stuff should be easy by now.

People associate graphics with the limits of content, that have been achieved decades ago. Graphics shouldn't alter the fact. Work on the features first & the graphics 2nd.

Maybe aspects of Ragnarok Online have always been better than aspects of Diablo 2?! Hmm. Who woulda thought & vise versa. Maybe tired of the teams being seperated, same era, no reason for not having the best of both worlds. Both are arpg enough. Varying mostly with art style or some slight action elements, tho essentially not very different. They both have stats. TBH IRO did stats better too. Tiny hero rpg's with multiplayer 1990's.

I played Diablo 2 a ton when I was a teen, until I got bored of it & moved on to mmorpgs. Yes the POE art staying true to D2 > Is better than D3 was. Still that doesn't mean POE is amazing on all grounds, just from the win over D3. Or that D2 limitations for 2022's route, is the best strategy.

P.s. Josh Strife Hayes began reviewing POE this week. Due to Diablo Immortal being a distaster, so he started POE. He mentioned how Diablo Immortal is a blessing for POE. That " Diablo Immortal is the best thing ever for POE " or some quote similar. Eitherway Josh Strife Hayes is a MMORPG guy. He's known for MMORPG only. He won't even review planetside 2 I've asked. So fantasy only mmo's. Perhaps he's not the only new MMORPG streamer reviewing POE right now, due to Immortal or due to Lost Arks failure. Ex Lost Ark streamers. So there's that also. MMORPG Streamers are reviewing POE right now. Also would be easier to get Asmon to stream POE, as he still talks highly of POE & has no mmo to main.

They've tried enough times to make PVP balanced and relevant in this game that it seems like a good assessment to say they can't do it well. The number of factors that go into a build in this game makes PVE a nightmare to balance; PVP is just worse.

I'm trying to remember the league that they tried to push PVP and it was a monumental failure.

I also recall Leo being the most difficult master to level up because getting a PVP match took forever.

True. Kinda funny. Tho still a doomer end result of a reply. Most of the big mmorpg streamers aren't pvpers. So ye I see where this talk leads to. Tho I have to mention; the reason pvp has failed isn't what you believe it is. For most mmo's at least, not speaking of this arpg's relation to pvp features. For most mmo's pvp didn't fail due to not enough pvp attention. They failed simply from the devs neglecting pvp features, due to greed. Why implement pvp features when you have a Yacht?! How much has Blizzard made since Vanilla WOW? You tell me. $$. So why wasn't their first BG fixed? Not enough players playing it? Alterak Valley. Vanilla had millions of people play that map, never fixed, unfair horde advantage by 99.8%. Never fixed. Attention of pvps fault? Nope. Devs hanging out on Yachts & not fixing their 1st 40verse40 map? Yep.

So yes as a real life elf, who also likes skill based game. I have to play Planetside 2 for skill pvp from time to time. Which isn't a fantasy mmorpg my favorite genre. PS2 is mmofps scifi shooter, yet where else is a lvl 1 able to kill a lvl 220 with some skill & progression? Yet PS2 is underrated due to bad SOE marketing from release.

Ragnarok Online had popular pvp, thousands attended, did that games pvp fail due to pvp attention? No IRO failed due to bots mainly & then korean grind or lack of quests. GW2 never really evolved its fighting experience, it stayed at a arena battle royal style experience & WvW turned to a meaningless train run. Nothing that was action or skill based enough. The skill for GW2 was minute lessons overtime, more like reading a book than actual fighting IQ. WoW Classic classes were unfair too.
