Quite the opposite actually, since the people who tend to do this always use the same excuse. I've played FFXIV and everyone's always saying there's so much more to RP. Nevermind the gigabytes of lewd mods they have installed. Not like I have anything against people that do it, but it weirds me the hell out and makes me feel both uncomfortable and sad that they have to resort to a form of socializing that's entirely virtual and completely made up.

Yeah, you just sort of walked into that one invoking XIV as your example. Predictable as last week's weather. You're not wrong, you're just still talking about one facet to something much more diverse and interesting. I don't blame you: that one facet sure likes its slick shininess. But you've just proven my point, haven't you? I said what you said tells us more about you than you'd prefer, and what I meant about that was pretty obviously that you consider 'RP' synonymous with the old stereotype of dudes acting like little girls online -- and it's a teeeeeny step from that to FFXIV's furry underbelly of RP (disclaimer: I play XIV casually and what little RP I see makes me lament for the human race).

It's pretty obvious that's not what the OP meant, especially in light of PoE. I wanted to run an RP league/server on PoE long ago (we're talking closed beta era, back when we had no idea what this game was going to actually be), and there was a lot of interest and support. Wraeclast seemed like a pretty cool, original setting for some in-character writing. I don't think any of those people were going to act like cat girls lewding on each other, at least not as part of the play.

edit: in fact, the best of the in-character writers of PoE material went on to write an official gamebook with GGG, which I thought was kind of fucking cool. Not that he was an RPer per se, but again, not a huge step from RP to fanfic. One just doesn't let others get in the way. Come up with your own ideas and you can even graduate from fanficcer to...actual writer! (Then comes the hard part: writer to author.) Which is to reinforce the point: not all RP is gross or disgusting or pornographic. Some can even lead to great things. In my case, two marriages. Strange. But. True.

And you know already don't you? I'm RPing right now. It might be closer to who I really am (not that I know who that is most times), but it's still not me. There is still artifice. Still liberal usage of the backspace key if I type something that I feel doesn't match this persona. This sentence right here has been changed at least five times. edit: six now.

POE is perfect. Doesn't need all these things, less is more.
POE/POE2 needs more balance on builds and for the crazy 1 shots.

The only reason to have big town and world boss is to show off the mtx. I care less for that.

Feels like you got banned from Lost ark and now wants Poe2 to be like lost ark but with only the things you like.
That being said Open world zones will always better then small instance zones.
but it is also alot harder to do right. You need alot of resource and time to make it the right away and even many AAA companies struggle to do it right. Look at Assassin's creed origins it had like 30-40% area stretched out to make it feel big and it was terrible.

I don't know what makes a good game but none of stuff you like I like.

Don't trade, no guild, no PVP, not even online would be cool with me.

I want make a cool build, kill shit, get loot. Simple. Old school... I game...mainly drone on a couple three hrs... to de-stress me out not to stress out or make life complicated.

PoE2 Would be better if not so random...like certain boss drops having specific drop are cool in PoE... every map boss should have his own set of drops too.

That would be about only change I'd make besides whole new reskin/monsters/mechanics coming of course
